Yes, that's true. Vantaa is the the 4th largest city in Finland, so an Apolytoner could well have been there, but fortunately we haven't yet heard of any eyewitness Apolytoners. We'll let you know if we get to know anything about any possible eyewitnesses.

5 are dead for certain and 59 injured have been taken to treatement in HUS hospitals (Peijas, Jorvi, Töölö, Hyvinkää, Lastenlinna, Meilahti). That was stated by the medical operations manager from HUS, so I would say he should be a quite reliable source. 8-10 are in a more critical condition.

Here's some update to anyone interested:


Ok even Rasbe will now have to admit that the official casualties are 6 dead and 80 injured. It was just on YLE.
Also the police is investigating this as a crime from now on. According to police, there was no gas explosion, or any flammable liquids etc. No one has been arrested yet.

hmmh.. weird. Last time we had our hospitals in emergency was back in WWII, which pretty much explains we live in a country with no disasters.
I still think this was maybe just an accident. If someone did it by purpose, they were some drunk idiots or glue sniffers.

edit: and new update, the body count has risen to 7.

This just in from the press conference held just moments ago:

Police has confirmed that this is no accident. They said it was a criminal act of some sort, they don't know motive yet, or the people who did this. It was no gas leak, there was explosives used, which were confirmed in investigation. The police won't say anything more related to this because investigation is going on.

What's troubleing is that there were lots of people and the 'bomb' went of at crowded place where people gather to watch shows..
Cops will hold their own press conference later today, so I'll bet they'll give us some more info on this.
There were so many people that must of seen this, that we will soon get the info, and also security cameras recorded video.
