This is one of my favourites, too.
Yaroslav, have you also read part II, "Metamagical Thema's?"

Some other favourite 'classics' of mine are:

"The left hand of darkness" by Ursula LeGuin
"The clan of the cave bear" by Jean M. Auel
"The dragonbone chair" by Tad Williams (I've met him!)

And Tolkien, of course.

Jasev, it's a fair question.

While the Great Law of Peace and Handsome Lake's Book of Rites deserve a place in the world's Great Library, they don't make an entertaining read, just like the Communist Manifesto and Darwin's Origin of Species which I've also read. All interesting stuff, but too serious.

I do love Iroquois fairytales, but there are no single titles that stand out for me. I also enjoyed Longfellow's Hiawatha, but of course that doesn't count as Iroquois literature.

I've read the Darwin's Origin of Species too, and I can affirm it's bored in many occasion but I think it's a great book.

I don't read Great Law of Peace and Handsome Lake's Book of Rites, but absultely agree with Marx's and Darwin's.

You know....I never thought about that. But if it can be found here, I will find it.

If they sell it at Amazon.com freely enough, they probably do here too.
