First of all, your first line made me laugh for about 5 minutes. "Who are you to patronize me, peasant? blah, blah, blah...
Why is my amygdala reference so ignorant? There has been solid evidence linking the arousal of the amygdala to people of different races. Might have something to do with racism ..even more blah, blah, blah....
Afterall, we are not animals I for one am not as eager to equate animal behavior to human behavior as you seem to be. (By the way, animal behavior doesn't justify human behavior, chief. Some mammals kill each other fighting over mates, others (even simians!) sometimes kill each other fighting for the social hierarchy. There are even cannibalistic animals! )
There is a legitimate school of thought that supports my idea. You can call me any name you want, though I think that you would be unpleasantly surprised at my level of education.
(p.s. I wonder how much some of you people would say to me if we were speaking in person and not typing things thousands of miles apart? I doubt that you would be quite as rude. I think you should chill out, Mr. Ego.) |
It's surprising just how pompous and asinine one person can be: woud I be shocked at your level of education? Assuming I'm interested, I might be surprised at the difference in the level claimed and the kind of reasoning exhibited. Knowledge without wisdom is small beer- James I and VI (superflous historical reference!) was called the wisest fool in Christendom. There's a very entertaining sequence (superfluous literary reference!) in Swift's 'Gulliver's Travels' in the 'Voyage to Laputa' section that deals with people like you.
As for your 'legitimate' school of thought- well, we've had 'Nazi' science, Stalinist 'science', creationism, flat earthers and hollow earthers, the Aetherius Society and plenty of others who believed they were and are 'legitimate'. You ain't nothin' new under the sun.
Your empty bluster- would I say it to your face? But of course!- is a sad fallback to the kind of argument relied upon by someone with a busted flush.
As Jimmy Cliff sang, 'the bigger they come, the harder they fall...'

I personally think its a mix, nature and nurture. Absolutist explanations for a complex thing like sexuality are kind of difficult for me to accept. Think of all the different things that come into your attractions to men/women, some of them must be instinctual, hormonal, psychological...
