The concept of an Arcology is that it is a self contained "Ark" containing all the requirements its inhabitants need. A dry run for building big spaceships that will be going where they can't just dial up 300,000 pizza's if their internal cooking arrangements fail. Okay this probably means its inhabitants are eating tank-grown yeast products for all their meals because tere simply isn't the space to raise animals and grow traditional crops unless you drastically increase the volume of space per resident, but thats the idea.

There is a random terrain generator in this one, right? I heard something about a 'couple' region maps included, but can they still be randomly generated with all the sliders and stuff?

They were kinda neat because it gave you a sense of future tech and society, but really were a game breaker.

I'd settle for monorails, bigger skyscrapers, subterranean buildings, arcologies or anything that makes it continue to feel like a growing and changing environment. Reaching 2002 and then getting stuck in freeze frame except for a couple of new power plants is something I hope won't happen. Not long now till we get to find out. Yay!
