	Trash Trips Ass TTA (working title) Support Apolyton, pre-order Civilization IV

Okay guy's I figured we were getting boggled down with only one thread so here's another one open to the TTA.

I suggest we discuss picking our civ here, as well as deciding how we want to run that civ. As in , discussions on poll usage, elections, nominations, political jargon etc etc. All these can be stated here!

Who should be elected and appointed in our government? I think the Prez should be elected but the Vice-President should be appointed amongst those willing. What about the SMC and Foreign Ministry? What to do to get those positions full? And the office of Imperial Expansion, should we have one or should we all unilateraly vote on where to settle our cities?

Do we even want to elect our leaders? There are other ways as well. We can rotate despots like the roleplaying team talked about doing...I'd rather elect the leaders but some may have different ideas.

What government posts do we want in the first place, or what do we think is necessary for this game?

And we still need to pick a civ dammit!

We could use the letters T.T.A. for something different other than Trash Trip's Ass (although that is still a good reason to play a game, hehe)

Any ideas?
Maybe 'Time To Attack', or 'To Triumph Always'

I know these are kinda cheesy but that's what results are for, to get to the bottom of things through rough ideas like those...

Yes, Trash Trip's Ass has pretty much been the rallying call for this team; it gets the members that's for sure.

I think all we really need is:

Military
Trade and Diplomacy
Science
Public Works

The Prez and Vice-Prez can be chosen from these four people (someone has to play the game, and we need an appointed back-up person). I'm tempted to say that we shouldn't have any of the above positions, but someone should have ultimate decision-making powers in case the group is split 50-50 on an issue.

Maybe all we need is a Prez? He could act as a tie-breaker to any very contentious issues.

We need to keep the beauocracy and government positions to a minimum - we don't have all that many players anyway.

That's what I was thinking. we vote and if there is a tie, the pres decides. Do we need specified roles? i think we are a small enough group to allow everyone's voice to be heard. Also, since the map will be smaller, there won't be as much stuff to decide. If this doesn't work, then we can figure something else out later.

I'd approve a name change to "Time To Attack". It's politically correct, does not harm anyone (at least verbal), and ... well ... all we know what T.T.A. really means, don't we?

About the decision maker on 50/50 ties: Who else than the group founder could this be?

Nobody else, unless NYE doesn't want to do it for any reason.
I doubt we'd even have to bother voting, I'd be surprised if anyone opposed NYE as our President/Team Captain if he wanted to do it.

I'm happy with "Time To Attack", especially since our team philosophy is that we consider each situation on it's merits, rather than proclaiming ourselves to be warmongers or builders from the beginning.

We wait until the time is right: the Time To Attack.

I agree on the -keeping the red tape to a minimum- approche here.
so just the prez: IMO founder NYE (where the h*ll is he btw?

other then that? Well I' havn't done any of thes demo game, so i'm gonna leave it up to you.

TTA: this IS more difficult I don't like "time to attack". Sounds to much like that other team

I don't think the Vice-Prez will really have any power when the Prez is active. He'd just be the one to physically play the game if NYE was unavailable for any reason.
Because of this we may as well just assign somebody to this position as and when it becomes necessary.

All of the above tie in well with my conceptions of the players here (myself as well) and how this team will handle itself.

Others come to mind: noble, cunning, reactionary, ruthless, subtle... enviable..

anyone follow the other teams?? I try not to read them, but I wanted to see who's was on the 'glory of war' list (sounds like Arrian and Theuseus might might join them too , good more ass to whoop :evil

We shall definetely need a leader, whether we call him Prime Minister or President or Consul or whatever. He may appoint a helper who we could dub vice-prez or an appropriate title.
We will need Ministers for at LEAST these positions:
Foreign Affairs
Military Commander
Economics
City Planning / Expansion

beyond that, we can either expand ministerial positions to create other needed jobs (maybe Public Works?) or leave some jobs to cross over into the other minister's control, say if the City Planner controls settlers/workers and decides what to build where, whether it be city or road or etc.
Although city-site placement could also be held to a majority vote, but SOMEONE will have to put up the map to help with future city planning.

We also have a choice of whether we want each city to be controlled by a different player, where that player reviews the city status and submits orders (kind of like Regional Administrators in the C3DG but with more power)...

just some thoughts.

Can't we just agree on some basic priciples and Ad-lib from there?? How many city's do you get on a small map anyway? 15-20? that's not that much work is it?

The Glory of War team had some interesting ideas while I was browsing. Each city is ruled by a player from the team, at which time that player each submits orders for the building queue of that city, whether to build units or improvements is up to them. T
his would help with player involvement, because why would you join a team if you didn't want to get involved?

Under that system, I could see difficulties for them. A nation of city-states controlled by local rulers cannot work as a whole better than an elected official who takes suggestions and acts accordingly. There could be differing opinions on who builds what in which city, etc etc.

I am honoured by the consideration being bestowed upon me. I did not assume that would be the case.

I think we will mostly find our way by agreeing on the best course of action. However, there is something to be said for assigning some areas of responsibility to individuals to be guardians of. Make sure we don't miss anything.

That being said, who considers themselves...

Diplomat
Economist
Tactician
Scholar?

We should divy ourselves up on those lines. Those with a strength in one area should work together and put forth one their own to be spokesperson (honcho that the game leader refers to in a pinch).

The players of the game should come from the school of Tacticians. The handeling of the forces in the field will be the crucial element of life and death in the game. I admit, I pay more attention to that than most other things, although i can build a mean empire too.

In the mean time, I would be honoured to lead for us, and to take the field to TTA. I need a strong second though, as I am spread a bit thin with current commitments.

BTW, we should prepare for the eventuality of our team being in more than one game at once.

It seems there will be more than 4 teams, but only 4 in game 1. That may mean that we could duel with another team. The Builders? While the main game goes on.

I see this as ideal. It gives more than enough opportunity for all of us to get some blood and grime on our hands.

Eventually, I would like to get in at least a duel with one of the other sites ASAP. After we have a private forum, of course.

BTW, a duel can be done with easily in the BCs. They are fun. Quick and sharp, as any duel should be.

The only restriction I would propose for this is... that most everyone of the team agree to the foray with the other team(s) and that nothing is done in the name of the team without near unanimous consent. ie, we'll work it out.
