Help yourself to an AD-FREE life

A friendly Iraq can also serve as a base to put more pressure on Iran and Saudi Arabia. Given that Turkey is bordering Iraq, we can have potential NATO expansion all the way down to the Persian Gulf.

BTW, Europeans and Japanese are more dependent on ME oil than the US. They probably can reap even bigger profits if Iraq is brought under US control.

As Iran, we will have a far easier time to set up infiltrations or propagandas against the current ruling theocratic oligarchs(who have become highly unpopular nowadays).

Finally, getting cheap Iraqi oil will finally give us some leverage against those back-stabbing Saudis. If they don't stop funding the terrorists, we can either stop paying them at all or have an easy invasion into their oil fields.

In any case, what's the buff. If the US gets to put it's puppet regime in Baghdad, Americans will get cheap gas, Iraq will be rich from oil , and EVERYONE WINS! what's the problem?

No paiktis22... you are using the "assesments" (and that's all they are, they may not even be correct) and saying that is the rational for Bush's war on Iraq. You seem to think that the assesments are the driving force.
And that's where you are wrong... Whether the assesments are correct or not, NONE of them claim that they are the rational for attacking Iraq. They are only stating that they may be the results of attacking and winning...

So again... it's all about politics. IF (and that's a big if) everything goes perfectly, and nothing goes wrong, it MAY mean lower oil prices for the US (again, no guarantees here). You are trying to link the two, where no link actually exists. So quote your "assesements" all you want... they aren't relevent.

If US is willing to assume direct control after crushing Saddam, Iraqi people would be much better off afterwards. Just name a country whose economic situation and living standard are worse off after the US took over.

The biggest risk lies in US stalling in their offensives, turning the whole war into yearlong attritions.

Again paiktis22... you ignorance of US politics is amazing.

Rule one... Get in Office...
Rule two... Stay in Office...
Rule three... Repeat as often as needed

It is purely politics. The Americans still want revenge, and Bush is giving it to them. Right or wrong, the majority of people think this is a good thing. The Dems tried to fight him on this, and look what it got them... a back seat for the next two years.

If there is some cash to be made, well, that's a bonus. Buy again, the "assesements" are only opinions, and may not happen. The driving force behind this is politics, not economics. And your posts aren't going to change that.

But keep trolling... that's what we have come to expect from you

Now, after many posts on my part and others, you admit that it is ALSO about Bush staying in office.

Your original statements were that it was "ALL" about oil. But unfortunately, you fell into the trap by admitting that it is probably equally both when you posted the following.

quote:

however the economics factor is also potent.
and i believce as potent as bush staying in office.

You admit there are multiple factors, factors which very well may be equal in importance... not just a SINGLE factor as your original posts indicated.

Ming, no probelm.

So it is also about Bush satying in office.

We just dont care much about this.

whoever rules america is the same.

what will happen out of a war agansit iraq is cheap oil for US.

the fact(?) that bush will stay in the throne of he attacks iraq only weighjts against american's common sense and the "link" between economic (company) and poilitical power in teh US may I say?

the end result is the same.

war on iraq for oil (and concequitly bush staying in power).

sure i accept this. never said anything different

The incoming war (this particular method) in Iraq is about giving Bush a boost for next elections
