euh... alva, you sure have a funny homepage. Would it be possible to have a very rudimentary index.html, with a collection of links to the different pictures (when you get more)? Right now, it fills Netscape with a bunch of characters, in IE it works however.
(no complaint, of course, I love the effort)

As to the starting pos: if we would get that kind of position, I would be a very happy man... build an extra worker, and on top of the already decent production, we could chop wood to get an extra 10 shields each 5 turns. Very powerful start!

Good to see that the game has started nicely

Few suggestions:

Should we keep some format in how to name the sav file, to locate it easier when loading it, for example, i named the file to "PBEM_Game_to_Ottomans_4000_bc" .

And maybe the email that is sent could also mention something about PBEM and perhaps the turn what is in it, like "Gathering Storm PBEM 4000 bc" or something like that. Just to keep things easier for those who have plenty of email in a day.

What do others think about this ?

In order to have viable filter rules for the email client I'd suggest to have "Gathering Storm PBEM" in the subject line. Received your email, Conqueror. Will make my turn in about 3 hours, as soon as I get home from work.

What do you guys think, can we boost this game a bit this weekend? Say, if we all agree to watch for mails for 3-4 hours and let the game circulate really quick?

What if we agree to play Saturday or Sunday at 4-8pm GMT? That would be...

8am-noon for Meshelic
9am-1pm for nye
11am-3pm for Randolph
5pm-9pm for Sir Ralph
6pm-10pm for Conqueror

The other way (evening for America, morning for Europe) is probably unapplicable, because either the Europeans have to get up 3am or the Americans have to play till 3am. Although both should be ok for a die hard civer, no need to enforce it.

Sent a little pic of my start to Alva too. Nothing spectacular. As I said it's ok, but none of the starts I praise the Lord for.

Wow, nye, you really got a piece of crap as start, even for Egypt. There seems to be one shielded grassland in the SW, what an asset!

Good job with the page Alva. Here's a little template as help to easier display more than one picture on a page and provide the appropriate year. It's based in NYE and the first two turns and can be ad infinitum extended.

I can play almost anytime during the weekend, just notify on Friday if we are going to make it happen, so i'll know to watch my mail closely.
