(Builder/Warmongerer), he is crafty and dedicated. Also owns the only $mini-game$ in Apolyton
UberKruX Legendary General for C3DG. Has been Supreme Military Commander and President in that game several times, whose tactical skills are respected far and wide amongst Apolytonians. Feared by many. Probably destined to be their 1st Military Commander.
Unorthodox Another largely respected member of the C3DG community. Creator/Former Editor of Jungle Gazette, has journalist and editorial skills. Probably the most respected on the team, his knowledge of the game is substantial and his opinions are sure to affect the flow of their game, regardless.
Aggie Former Deputy to UberKruX, Aggie's tactics and leadership as Supreme Military Commander in the Civ3DemoGame made him one of the most feared and respected members of the forum. He is quiet and calculated, and speaks only when misquoted or when formulating precise and strategic plans for war. Is probably their best General in the field, and as such can be expected to be a formidable opponent if he achieves command, which is also expected.


CHOSEN GOVERNMENT STYLE
Fuedalistic society where an all-powerful Emperor rules over the Kings/Lords and Lesser Kings/Lords. Each King controls his own city domain and is responsible for build queue's and for mutually protecting the other King's cities. Each King receives a certain amount of votes depending on how much population there is in his particular city.

GLORY OF WAR RALLYING POINT
Their sole purpose is to build their empire for the waging of war, and to eliminate other empires, especially human. Thus they can be expected to uphold the minimum amount of city improvements with favor towards production-raising improvements and happiness-inducing traits that will keep their civ happy as they wage war. They have made it a point in their threads that the Emperor is all-powerful and can decide upon war without counsel from members.

I hoped these threads would turn in to this, but never expected it

re: Uber;

IMO he is the one to target diplomaticaly, allthough intelligent, he has a tendency to behave somewhat irrational.
In words definately, so probably in actions too.
This makes him dangerous,but also vulnarable.
The more power he gets, the better it will be for us, why?
When pushing the right buttons, he will act !, therefore we can take the initiative and play the game on our terms.

* I hope we all get this is a game, and doesn't take my comments too serious. I do not mean to speake ill about anyone on these boards, These are merely opinions observed from being here.

This team is very very dangerous. Uber and Aggie did great jobs controlling the military in the C3DG. If we start next to these guys we'll be in for a HUGE early fight.

They continue to talk and trash talk, and I have a strange feeling that they are trying to stir up controversy against us with all the accusations of bringing in supposed 'ringers'. They are probably looking for people to goad into going to war with....

I think that some of our initial members had them spooked and looking for help. Sir Ralph was not a person to be trifled with in the Civ3DG. Vel is... what can you say?

Then more joined. Forced their hand and told us their intentions right off. All good in my book. Now we know where they stand.

Unless there is some grand sceme being setup , Donegal did make a mistake. If he had played his cards right, they could have formed some super alliance, the window of opportunity was there. Not anymore though.

That's why we need to stay/remain cool and polite.
Not start slinging mud like Donegal.
(and seek at least one alliance iMHO)

Lux on the other hand has been suspiciously quite the last couple days, I wonder what they are up too? We'd better be prepared for them.

What if the GoW starts 6 tiles from us? Is it best to go right off? What is gained if they parry, or for them if we parry? Nothing...

if the GoW starts 6 tiles from us, there is little that we can do but go for it... sure we will lose big time in this war, but before they have a chance of building a fourth city, they should lose at least 1. Otherwise we're toast later on...

Please, God of the RNG, make them start a little farther away from us, so we can build our game like we want to

Currently , I'm trying to introduce someone into the buiders team (no, not a spy ), he could make a very good diplomatic option.
He could still choose another team, so, we'll see.
He did mention , he very much liked the name TTA

If we start 6 tiles away from GoW then we had better snuff them or expect the same treatment when they get more powerful. I would hope we'd do that to anyone though, not just Glory of War.

And yes you're right alva848, Donegeal laid his cards on the table, the opportunity was there, but the only thing is that we don't know if they were played right or not.
It's easier pre-game for everyone to gang up on one civilization, but once the game starts and everyone has their own agenda and start location, then it's totally different.

Regardless....

one question, if we were allied in some way with the Role Play Team then conceivably we'd have 1/2 of all the human players on the same side, right?

I think it is their plan to try to agitate us. My solution would be to ignore him or not let him get to us (not lowering us to his level, responding with tact)

I will say that he is certainly playing his role quite well....

however, I don't think that anyone but flash actually cares about what he has to say about us being snooty.

Agreed. I don't think either Togas or Spiffor are turnip enough to fall for it. I don't think Uber or Done would be too impressed with him either.

I say we just play on, and not be too fussed about the ramblings of a loose cannon. Pat him on the head and say 'nice beastie' or give him a whack with the old news paper when deserved.

Back on topic: it does seem strange that Glory didn't receive any new members, I would guess that warmongers would be more attractive to people. My only guess can be that they either don't have a good idea as to what PR and diplo will need, or they simply don't care... which seems strange as they know they will have to seek allies if they want to be constant at war.

Saw that thread, thought it was amusing. I wish we could post links to his previous threads in the thread where he was ripping on us, but that wouldn't be very, uh, diplomatic.

edit: I just realized how much we've spammed up his cutthroats thread.

I also dont' nderstand why glory doesn't have more members. for me personally, I think Uber would pretty much control everything, so the little guy has no say. seems by its nature to be less democratic.

As to threadjacking his thread, yeah, it wasn't intentional, but it was in his thread nevertheless. Oh well, all threads are getting spammed, which is kind of natural in a situation where a lot of anticipation is building, but few real things can be done.

So now the Glory of War team has the least amount of members.... This surprises me somewhat, but I'm guessing not everyone wants to be instantly pigeonholed like those guys are, with a name like that it's hard to convince someone you might be for something other than war...

I don't think that's the biggest reason: both Lux and ourself have stated to be a warlike team as well, and people who do like it will rather have a team in which there is some balance to it. Very few people believe (if they think so far) that war is the only way to go, and no building is needed.

That aside: if Glory is only half decent, they will realize this, and even if their outside intentions are war, war, war, they will know that they need to build, play the diplo game, and have some kind of research plan in order to be able to sustain war.

But here's a question: after us ringers joined GS, and other then the 3 people who applied to us, have there been any new members on any of the teams? TPR got into the RPGers, and that's about it, I guess... there simply are no candidates anymore.
