Regarding ambassadors: should we allow for one person to be ambassador with more than one civ?

Com'on people, we are 17 members, yet only 7 nominations (including Vondrack)?

I'll put my name in the hat for one of the ambassador positions. I don't have a preference between the rival civs.

I will serve where ever Redstar/Vondrack and the people assign me.

Ok, updated the list with Vondrack and Imtoops choices. Just to let everyone know, I'll be out of communication for the next 4 days: off to celebrate that wonderous American holiday of eating and feeling like you ate too much, Thanksgiving! About the Head Engineer: do we really need it? I mean, what would he do? Moving the workers, that's all. I say we should merge the Head Engineer with the Master Builder.

I say that in case we don't have enough ambassadors, the same person should be appointed ambassador to 2 civs instead of only 1. If you agree with this, we can end the nomination phase and get to the polls.

I'm not sure it's been discussed whether a minister can be an ambassador, but I'd gladly step down from an ambassadorship to make way for someone else. I had submitted my name back in the days when we were only 8 members. Now that we have more people, doubling up is less of a requirement.

I think a minister shouldn't be also an ambassador, but an ambassador could be appointed for 2 different civs (if there wouldn't be enough ambassadors).

Its my understanding that ambassadors are apointed for the rest of the game where as ministers have the opportunity to change positions. If ambassadors are not allowed to also be ministers then it seems you would have a hard time finding ambassadors.

This is quite a good point. Ambassadors should really stay with their partner civs for the whole of the game. So, I say: allow them to be ministers at the same time.

From the poll regarding the Head Engineer and Master Builder positions, I can see that we'll have no Head Engineer for the beginning. What are we going to do later still depends on the poll's outcome, but this isn't our immediate concern.

I've moved the Head Engineer candidates to the Master Builder ministerial position.

We seem to agree that ministers should be allowed to be ambassadors, too. I'm not sure however about the Forein Advisor It would be strange for the other civs that our FM is ambassador to one of the civs. They might think that we are favoring one of the teams, plus they would never know who is talking with them: the FM or the ambassador
I think the FM should serve on long term (like the ambassadors) to develope a good relation with the others, so this incompatibility shouldn't be a problem.
Tell me your opinion about this.

Other than that we should proceed to the polls. We need the ambassadors and the FM ASAP!

Do you agree to post the polls in a few days? (or even tomorrow?) Also, should we put a deadline for them? 3 days?

Listen, I have an idea: I'm retiring from the Military Architect position, thus leaving Redstar the only candidate. This way Redstar becomes Military Architect and Vondrack Foreign Advisor.
Since I think we could work out the ambassadorial positions by direct negotiations and mutual understanding, the only poll we must held is for the Master Builder.
What do you think?

That sounds like a pretty good plan, Tiberius. We should probably get the vote for MB up and running shortly. I guess I should start a campaign thread since I seem to have competition now

I also agree with your point about the FA not being an ambassador, as well as serving for a longer duration. That can be specified in teh constitution, if there are no major objections.
