I have been ready since yesterday night. Trip was supposed to have worked out a system for randomly determining the order with MarkG.

If we don't have anything within the next 4 hours I propose we start and go by the order each team's leader posted in this thread.

So far the order would be:

Gathering Storm (notyoueither)
Neu Demogyptica (Borc)
Glory of War (GhengisFarb)
Roleplay (astrologix)
Vox Controli (BetaHound)
Lux Invicta (Calc II)
Legoland (Whenever someone shows up tomorrow..)

Am I the only one who thinks of pasta when I hear the name Vox Controli?

The RolePlay team has several members already online (adaMada, astrologix, Crousto, dejon, oliverfa), but our leadership has not yet arrived.

Regardless, the particulars of setting up the game have not yet been decided...what is happening today? Is there to be a flurry of emails the whole day? How many turns?

Also, not that it matters a great deal, but I hardly think the Glory of War should be allowed to arbitratily decide how to determine the start order.

I don't see how you can construe my post suggestion as an attempt to take over the game It is simply an easy and effecient way to get the game started before we lose some teams for the whole day.

Borc is only going to be available for a few more hours and since he has posted he would do his teams turn early and as other leaders show up they would fall into rotation to do their team's turns

Just because a few of the participants want us to be glued to our computers for 18 hours straight doesn't mean all of us want to be here for the entire 18 hours.

This is exactly the kind of attitude that will prevent this game from ever starting. What is your suggestion and how would we go about beginning.

I wasn't construing that at all. In fact I said that it wasn't a big deal. I merely think that, time and methods permitting, an alternative would be preferable.

I concur that it makes sense for Borc to go first, given the time constraints. Perhaps a turn order in relation to the team's representatives time zones would be better?

It is a pity that an official start time was never decided. That is the problem. Our representative, GodKing, last stated that he expected Trip would start the game and post it for the first turns to start at around 12:00 EST.

While I appreciate Borc's situation, and that not everyone wants to sit around for 18 hours, I believe it is unwise to proceed without proper representation from each team, and consensus on game start procedure.

Apolyton's IRC server, I suppose. Which room? The server won't give a list of rooms like any sane server would.

Pretty difficult to do a general turnchat with a PBEM game, no? I expected each team to host its own chat, and then post or email the save.
