I have created this thread to discuss who might serve our people as ambassadors, and for us to discuss ambassadors from the other tribes that have come in contact with us.
Please feel free to not only volunteer in this thread, but to also let us all know what you know about what the other tribes' ambassadors are up to.

I volunteer for any ambassadorial position our glorious leader would have me serve in, as long as he thinks my ailment* won't be an undue burdon upon the job. (If he does believe so, I'd humbly volunteer for a minor position as assistant to an ambassador, should any be required).
EDIT: Leaving this like it is, but I got my teams wrong . Meshelic and Rising Storm aren't mercs; Panzer and Glory of War are. My mistake -- better sort out the other team's diplomats now .
The only ambassador who I can remember off the bat is Meshelic (Rising Storm) -- I'll go and try to figure out who the other ambassadors are later). Cultivating a good relationship with Meshelic's team could be an essential part of our early strategy. Though they are mercenaries, they will obviously work for their own interests; by convincing them that we are valuable allies, we may secure ourselves from their threat, or perhaps even use them in the future. If we decide to take a route of alliance, I'd make a bold suggestion -- give them a (small) gift earlyish in the game (seemingly at random, without any announcement or forewarning). Though it need not be much, if we can either A) befriend them and become allies, or B) convince them that we will ultimately serve their needs, and (as such) are too valuable to attack. Of course, any such proposition carries high risk -- that we may be seen as little more than their vassal, that they may take advantage of us, or that they may see it as a sign of our weakness -- but I believe we'll benefit from strong early ties with one of the military civilizations, and a small 'token of friendship' (early enough in the game that it not matter in the long run) might go a long way in that regard. I do not mean that I'd unconditionally support such an action, or that I'd even be in support of it -- the idea has just come to me, and I feel it needs more consideration before I state my support either way -- but I believe it to be an interesting proposal, worthy of discussion.
NOTE: Looking back on this suggestion, it might be a suitable plan for any of the militaristic civilizations -- but it is especially well-suited to Rising Storm due to their mercenary nature.
Either way, I would suggest that we find some way of trying to make ourselves valuable to rising storm, as I imagine that they could be a very dangerous force should we ever find ourselves in a close war.

I´d like to purpose my sonfor the embassie of vox controlli. No, not my first son, but Henrique Winterius, my second son. He has been cultivating some friendships among two of theyr members, and alos with a member of gathering storm, so I believe he would be fit for the task?
Also, I was able to incut him with an aura of politeness, but inside him he want us to triumph more than anything, so he would be a loyal assert to Our Leader, if I might add.

After much thought I have decided that we cannot afford to ignore the other teams at this stage in the game, even if we have not officially met them.
I will send notices to each team who has sent us an ambassador notifying them that we wish to open communications, and I will inform each team who their contact is as each official ambassador is confirmed.
I cannot stress enough how important the ambassador job is. You will be the face of our civilization, our direct representative. Your creativity, good nature, ambitiousness, and guile could make or break our civilization. This job must be taken very seriously.
So far Thud has volunteered to represent us to Legoland, and Nuclear Winter has volunteered to represent us to Vox Controli. I have 6 other possible people for 4 other civs. There may be more.
Godking, adaMada, History Guy, Ruby Maser, Arnelos, and jdjdjd, please repost to this thread with your preferences.
If anyone else wishes to serve in this vital role, please post your preferences.
Recommendations and nominations will also be considered.

Togas,
I'll take any team -- I'm more interested in the job than the civilization. Having said that, of the ones that are still available, Glory of War would be the most interesting, since I know one of the ambassadors well (though not their ambassador to us I'm afraid), and I'd be very interested in developing strategies for dealing with their unique merc. nature . Having said that, I'd be nearly as interested in the other teams -- I know Meshelic well, who'll be representing Gathering Storm to us -- so I'm rather ambivilant; other people's prefrences should come before mine .
On a totally unrelated note -- has anyone else noticed that Soren Johnson (AI programmer of Civ3 for any who don't know!) appears to be a member of Gathering Storm? That could be very interesting -- though if he does play actively, I don't envy us, since I'm sure he can answer a lot of gameplay mechanics questions we couldn't even come close to knowing .

Continuing general discussion on the other team's ambassadors, as our glorious leader instructed us to . I had a long discussion with some of the ambassadors from the other teams last night. Posting what I remember about other team's structures. (I'll check my logs later, see if I can't find some more information).
Gathering Storm: (Meshelic). Mes is the Gathering Storm FAM. All the other teams (besides us) have ambassadors who answer to him, but he directly serves us. Basically, we've got a hotline to the boss .
Glory of War: (Panzer32). Panzer is covering three teams, including us. UnOrtHOdOx is covering the other three.
Neu Demoglyptia: (Borc?). For all it's worth, it seems that most of the other teams are appointing ambassadors who speek German. I don't know if we have anyone who speeks German, and I'm sure they'll try to find an english speeking person for us if we need them to, but thought I'd point it out .
In general, the other Foreign Ministers/Ambassadors seem ready to go . Though it's just a hunch, I think we might be able to exploit it a bit -- I believe ALL the representatives want to get started with Human diplomacy, so we might be able to sneek an early deal by (that might not make it through later in the game) on the novelty (and the general desire to start diplomatic interactions). Just a thought -- I've no clue if it'll work
Will post more as I learn/remember/think of it .

Can you elaborate on the duties? or is it limited to contacting them and being nice, and then actually discussing possible trades as we find them in the game. does it include other types of trade too, like we did with legoland?
I guess it does not matter.....
Oh, will it gt a poor humble servant like me some property? a title?
Bishop jdjdjd sounds nice.
I am indifferent as to whom I represent, I do not know Meshelic, Borc or Panzer, other than by name. I know Trip, though, he's not their ambassador.
Or, you can give me the last one not taken, if others do not take all of them.
