Since we are already 5, standard map seems better than a small one. Maybe we should choose a map with more water and less land, to accelerate things?

Everything random is fine for me.

Other setup choices:
version: 1.14f (I suppose we won't wait for the next patch, or ...?)
AP - off
CF - on
all victory conditions - on

One more thing: please whoever is setting up the game, optimize the playing order. I hate getting games in the middle of the night, that I can play only the next afternoon.
So, my playing hours: 5 PM (sometimes 3 PM) - 10 PM GMT.

I guess i could be in too, then there'd be the max.6 players, if people are willing to play with so many. (BtW solved the yahoo groups bug, and am able to use that, too)

I could be the Persians since the old owner of Persia wont play anymore. If thats not possible, then i'll take China.

But strict 24/36/48 hour rule is needed, and people really should inform if they are away for longer periods.

Random map is propably not so good option if we end up in archipelago with min. land and will not see each other before Magnetism

I'd prefer Continents or Pangaea, other options random.

I would like to stick with the Celts as I'm not playing them in any of my other PBEM games.

I think we should stop at 6 players. The games with more than that number seem to be the ones that fail. I am in several games with 6 players that are going well so far.

Continents would be best but I would play pangaea.

I would definitely support a 48 hour rule. I can usually manage a turn per day but not always. Anyone away for more than 48 hours should notify so a decision on whether or not to seek a stand in can be made.

As for the map, I'd prefer to play on archipeleago rather than on pangaea, but that's just me. I'd go for random.

I agree we should us a strict 36 or 48 hour rule, and should stop at 6 players.

I'll continue with Greece, since I am not currently playing them anywhere else.

For a map, I would prefer continents as long as no one is trapped on a lonely island. Maybe have a third neutral party check the map prior, or send a few first turns around and have everyone vote on the best?

Otherwise pangea is fine, all other settings random.

Let's go with continents, standard map, no AP, all victory conditions.

Not sure what the turn order should be. I also would prefer that whatever the starting position we keep going. It ends up being more challenging that way.

Play order could be arranged by players GMT times, smallest to largest (example: GMT -7, GMT -5, GMT +1, GMT +3). That has worked in some games.

I PM'ed & mailed Ormuzd about choosing the civ.

I'm visitting the forum only when I'm playing some turn and this happened some minutes ago.
So, my choice is Ottomans, but, if possible, rename them to Bulgarians.
My time zone is EET - GMT+2 (+3 in the summer)

Please be so kind and wait a few more hours. Vondrack is playing on my behalf and apparently he doesn't get these yahoo messages. I didn't know this, otherwise I'd have asked Cerberus to send the save directly to him. Unfortunately I don't have computer or internet at home now and I didn't know that I was my turn.

I hope that in a few days all will be back to normal.
