Hmmmm, say Fairline, ever think about making a bunch of E-series German tanks and perhaps a Tiger II and Panther? Cuz, those would look really nice in someones scenario.....

One question: My latest Russian and German tanks are a bit over the top on contrast; I was kind of experimenting and I think they look OK in civ so long as you remember to normalise the view with cntrl-z. Would this style be OK, or would you prefer a nore subtle contrast, as with most other 'Nemo-type' iso graphics?

The contrast is fine IMO, but, and this will probably sound silly, you may be drawing the tanks in a little bit too much detail - they're fantastic drawings, but look a little 'cluttered' in civ.

1 forward gear and 25 reverse then? I know, that joke was never funny when it was new

I was more thinking of good top speed and OK armament let down by paper thin armour and general mechanical unreliability. As a mark of how flawed the Japanese tanks were, the Australian Army never bothered replacing the 2 Pounder AT guns which were issued to units in the Pacific, despite large stocks of 6 Pounders being available in Australia!

Harry, Curt made some E-series tanks, I think. Nemo's Panther and Tiger I are his best graphics, IMHO and Catfishes' camo versions are excellent, even in humble 256-colour

I take your point; the T-34 in particular is a little overburdened with detail on the hull sides. I'm having a general rethink about them in light of Catfish's comments about the tracks in the Graphics Workshop thread.

That also explains why Grant's were used by the British in the Burma campaign long after they'd been replaced by Shermans in Italy and NW Europe.

KV-1 tanks with toned down tracks, after helpful comments by Catfish. I'd appreciate feedback as to whether the tracks are an improvement over the JS-2 and JS-3, which share the KV-1 running gear.

I actually didn't mind the detail; it was the contrast/smoothness that bothered me.

I know you get bored with constant kudos, fairline.
But work of this calibre attracts praise, mate!

I will be the pragmatist, and say that I think the look of the tanks was great to start with,
and your applied advice from catfish can only improve the situation.

At the end of the day, you are the only one entitled to be the final judge of your work.

For those who don't know how is looking the new graphic update of my scenario...some air units:

OLD - NEW

I re-sized the nemo's Polikarpov, corrected some details and added extra texture.

The new Messerschmitt Bf-109 is from Harry Tuttle, tweaked a bit by jim panse and re-coloured by me.

Some extra-detail added at my Tupolev SB-2. texture revised
