Here's a glimpse into a project that I'm thinking about starting. I say its high time the Civilization II community got together and punched out some fairline style Star Wars units. Now to my knowledge none have really been made to this date, I could be wrong but in case I'm not this is what I had in mind.
This here is just a preliminary version of the Imperial Tie Fighter. Now its still missing some major details like the armored plates on the fusalage and the cockpit window, but this should give you guys a basic idea of where I want to go with this. Using the same model, it should be relativley easy to produce the Darth Vader Tie Fighter as well as a Tie Bomber.
If anyone out there thinks this is a project worth our time please let me know. I think there's a huge demand for Star Wars units out there thats just waiting to be satisfied.

The scenario I had in mind would be a ground based scenario, such as one of the Clone War battles, maybe the Battle of Hoth or the Occupation of Naboo.
Personally, I just don't think outer space translates well into CIV II.

Well Curt, I for one liked "Attack of the Clones" but I'm not going to start one of those debates here, I've been in far too many as it is. If some of you jump on board we could create units for dozens of Star Wars scenario's taking place from episode 1 to episode 6 easily.
I've tried making the Darth Vader Tie Fighter and the Tie Bomber but I'm having trouble with the sloped wing. Anyone else out there want to give it a try?

I found most of the units I need for my medieval-fantasy scenario(see the Pomarj thread), or at least the basis for them, but there are still afew where I desperately need your help!
BTW: all the units I found are based on work from Curtsibling, Fairline or Favoured Flight, so I would really prefer unit in that style so that they all go well together.
Here they are:
1) I need a Warrior in chain mail wielding a two-handed sword! I didn't even find a bad looking one, I never saw a 2-handed sword unit actually!
2) I need a good"combat engineer": I would like a "engineer" unit that looks as if it could fight too (as it will have decent fighting stats)
3) a horn (like the one used to bring down the walls of Jericho! ) (it was made by a demon, if this can inspire you...)
4) 3 units from an evil, powerful tribe from ancient times: a wizard/cleric, a warrior and a noble (warrior too); I imagine them rather dark!
5) and last, for those familiar with the dragonlance series, a Draconian; and for those not so familiar: they are humanoid created through corruption of dragon eggs, so they are humanoid with a kind of "dragon look", and with wings which allow them to glide (parachute anyone?? )

Say Fairline, I was wondering if I could get your advice on shading and texturing for a scenarion project I'm working on. Its an alternate history scenario where WW1 and WW2 are one massive war that takes place in an alternate universe.
Now I need your help making a tank unit that is essentially a giant iron tank on four giant armored wagon wheels. I can't seem to get the shading for the curved parts right, especially the roof, do you have any advice on figuring how much shading to add to curved surfaces? Maybe is there a tutorial you can refer me to for shading curved surfaces?
Here's one unit that I have completed already, its a second generation tank, specifically its a Qing Dynasty Tortust Tank which is meant as a replacement for very early tank designs such as the one I'm asking about.
