here's some of the units i've compiled for the OIF 1 scenario i'm working on right now.
i'm trying to give each of the US divisions some "special" unit (the Blackhawk i asked for is the 101st Airborne's unit, because they're more of an air assault unit now than an airborne one)
the first unit is my 3rd ID infantryman, it's a normal infantryman, with an M203.
the second is my 4th ID infantryman, he's got a SAW
third is a Marine, he's packing an M16A2 (i have yet to see a Marine over here with something else- i'm in Iraq right now, BTW)
fourth is a 101st Airborne trooper, who doubles as my 82nd Airborne guy, just with a different patch. His weapon of choice is an M4 carbine.
the Apache is from this thread, i shortened the tail just a bit, though, because it seemed a little too long. the Mig 21 just looks nice, i know there's about a zillion of them on this thread already, but i didn't remember seeing that one.
last is my attempts at shoulder patches. some of them (3rd ID, 101st AB) i'm pretty happy with, others (10th Mountain, 25th ID) are complete dog puckey, but i put them up there anyway.
for the record, everybody, the 24th ID (orange with a green spot shaped like the 25th ID patch) was disbanded after Desert Storm, and is no longer a US military unit.
none of the units are created by me, but the slight modifications i DID do myself. i'm just not that good at drawing units yet.

At this point, it will be some time before we (the US) go after ANYBODY in force- if we go after anybody at all.
Both Iran and Syria are aiding the insurgents in Iraq (the Ayatollah Kalahari Mari or whatever his name is in Iran gave half a billion dollars to various insurgent groups here a few months ago), but given how bored people already were with saving their homeland when we were trying to go into Iraq, I doubt we're gonna go after anybody until we get hit again, and they knock over the Sears Tower or something like that.
Of course, the media could start doing some honest reporting, and we'd have more public support for the war over here, and we'd be more likely to install a democratic government in Syria or Iran, but we all know that's not gonna happen.
I should find some units to post here so that it pertains to Civ2 at least a little...
