I can't deal with everything. There are some parts I can relate to something (i.e the same number of values as buildings) But having values I've not been able to figure the maening of yet.

Also I've seen some sort of list of remaining players in the game which seems to be sorted in a way, but I've not been ble to figure out the use of it and the sort order (and if the barbs are included or not)

I just have to inform you that the new version will have to wait a while.

I have a major computer problem on one of my computers, resulting in me only being able to run it in 16 color display @ 640x480. I have to fix this before I can tend to programming

Actuaslly I have fixed it now, and had tried that three times already when I decided to post that.

The fix (don't try this at home)
0. Windows reboots directly when it's supposed to start.
1. Boot to DOS
2. CD \Windows\System
3. DEL *.vxd
4. DEL *.drv
5. cd..
6. REGEDIT /E c:\backup.reg
7. ATTRIB -S -H -R system.dat
8. DEL system.dat
9. Reinstall Win98
10. After reboot find that you have to edit a line in system.ini (for some driver I deleter ) to even get Windows to boot during the installation
11. Windows finds all hardware again, and reboots
12. Still 12 colors 640x480, but you now have tghe correct device name for gpx card (progress).
13. Don't try to change the res or color depth even tho it's possible. It will just result in a bluescreen on reboot and then rerturn to the old setting after the next reboot
14. Update graphic card driver.
15. Restore what you need of the HKLM registry and reinstall some impoprtant stuff as DirectX.
16. Done


Before this I had this:
0. Windows reboots directly when it's supposed to start.
1. Boot up in errorsafe mode
1.5 Scandic reports that the ammount of free memory is incorrect
2. Delete the graphic card from device mannager
3. After reboot Windows will find you arer using a Default Graphic card (VGA) and boot normally with 16 colior 640x480
4. Try to reinstall your graphics card
5. Make sure you have the latest drivers
6 reboot
0. Windows reboots directly when it's supposed to start.
1. Reinstall Windows 98
1.5 Scandic reports that the ammount of free memory is incorrect
2. Reboot after install

- SGE: Added command button to Map tab for update of unit sight if the auto-update is disabled.
- SGE: Now recalculates the number of cities for each continent and writes the correct data for that into the save.
- SGE: Optimized recount functions for units and buildings.
- SGE: Subscript out of range error on save with versions of Civ3 before the BIC was embeded in the save corrected.
- SGE: Added map summary similar to the one in the Civ2 Map Converter to the map tab

Hya...

Well, I guess I was mistaken again.

My issue isn't the MultiTool. I open the PTW save on SGE, it says that ist's not a CivIII file and is not a recognized format but it loads and I can make changes and save.
I open the save on PTW but no changes took place.

So, now that it's proved that my Play The World is the problem , what can I do? I mean, really, what can I do? Is there a way to fix it?

try a complete reinstall after a complete uninstallation (be sure to backup saves, custom unit graphics and scenarios, but delete registry entries and all other civ3-files)

then install
1) civ3
2) ptw
3) ptw 1.21f patch

if this doesn't work, it must be your OS...

sounds good but , its a bit risky to keep some files around , ..... the best is to delete and uninstall and then look manually for files like , civ , civilization , infogrames , firaxis , arts , etc , ..... delete those , reboot (!) make sure to turn all soft and hardware security off , reinstall , get patches , programs , reboot , .....

all to often a reinstall or the regular unistall seems to leave the problem behind , ......

just found a problem with v1.01 (using win2k, ptw 1.21, standard rules)

when i tried to used "fill box" in the captured city of carthage to "rush build" the forbidden castle, after wanting to save the file, i'm asked "this will move the oracle from thebes (where it was originally built) to carthage".

maybe something is wrong with the wonder enumerator?

any idea?

SkalTur, i forgot, but as panag said: reboot between de- and reinstallation
however, you don't need to delete all other files. just remove them from the standard civ3-folder before deinstallation...

Oh, and BTW, if you see anything about a v1.01.0001 it's not needed. It is just a build to be able to do the update from 1.00 to 1.01 while Poly was down (tha't why it's not posted here).

I just wanted to say thanks, guys. I was so faithless that I completely forgot this reboot stuff... also, I turned off WinME Auto-Update long ago, so I don't have any new versions...

I'll try that now... maybe I regain my will to play PTW!!

v1.01 got an incorrect language file.

Placing this c3mt.txt file in your c3mt directory will enable the added map summary feature of the SGE, and make sure that the manual unitsight recalculation doesn't produce a subscript out of ranfge error.

I think that this happen when you scroll through the city list while one of the great or small wonder is highlined. I had this many times but never be a problem.

If there is a password stored in the file it might (will) ask for it.

It might be a password used in one of your recent games.

Thanks. I've been able to find the reason: It's suring the update sequense of the bvuildlist, (when the wonder still is selected from the wondercity) it believes that you try to move the wonder.

This will be corrected in the next version by reseting the selection before updating the list.
