Terrorist acts targeting Grozny are being financed by unnamed Arab countries, Moscow's leading anti-espionage agent says.
The head of the anti-terrorist branch for the northern Caucuses, Col. Ilya Shabalkin, said orders were coming from a well-known rebel, Shamil Basayev, and a representative of the "Muslim Brotherhood" -- Abu Al Walid , CNN's Jill Dougherty reported.
Military intelligence, he says, recently learned that Abu Al Walid was ordering a series of terrorists attacks on Grozny. The attacks are being financed by several Arab countries, which were not named.

If true, this is a virtual declaration of war on Russia by the concerned Arab countries. Any speculation on which Arab countries may be involved?

It seems like Russia just wants to go indiscriminantely after Chechnya and call them linked with Al Queda so we'll look the other way. |
And they're not doing it right now? I think Russia realizes that the rest of the world doesn't care enough of chechnya and it can do whatever it pleases there.

Errrm. I think you prolly have already.
What remains to be seen is if your nation has the will to do the job. And if the hangers on do not draw you back.
The course of the next 50 years will be determined by who has the will. Weak kneed liberals may not like it, but that is the case. European Enlightenment concepts simply cannot co-exist with some other views of the universe.

European Enlightenment concepts survived the 20th century, so its a very good bet that they will survive the first half of the 21st, unless they are undermined and destroyed from within, like, with statements like these.
I say: all of thsoe calling for a crusade, do what the first actual crusaders did, get together yourself, form a private army, and away with you: go fight my boys, no one is stopping you.
