I'm guessing he's really looking for the VP slot.
The interesting question is -- why he's giving up the senate seat after only one term?

There was some amusing debates on the "news" channels this afternoon, with various talkingheads (mostly conservatives) badmouthing him for having little political experience, no familiarity with foreign policy, etc.
Of course, not a single solitary Democrat commentator had the cojones to say, "Oh, you mean he's just like George W. Bush."
