Ridiculous - somebody sees money fly off the top of a car, so they report a carjacking, then the cracker police go apeshit without having any real info.

Put an end to popups!

That's what I don't get. Why would the carjackers throw the money out of the car! What kind of morons do they have around those parts. Don't answer that.

But I can't imagine a carjacker would leave a wallet on top of the car.

Where did I say to kill a cop for killing your dog?

I certainly think it'd be appropriate to beat the **** out of an officer for doing that, or pull a gun on them and force them to put theirs down, then physically restrain them.

Floyd is onto something here.

In fact, the government should distribute a gun to every citizen (regardless of age!) incase this happens.

This way the crazy cop shoots the guy who pulled the gun, and the guy who pulled the gun's wife will shoot the cop.

Assuming the inital guy had done nothing wrong - other than attempting to restrain a cop who was acting immorally - his wife would certainly be in the right, because the cop just committed murder and she has every reason to believe that she is next.

Time to coin a new phrase?

'To Floyd a thread'---> to take any thread, and turn it into an example of why we need to violent resist the government taking guns from people.

I think this is an example of two things:

1. Some people make really shitty cops, the 'had to' comment, the complete lack of any empathy or understanding, or even hard thinking, shows this.

2. The American public, after years of romanticization, is shocked to discover that donning a badge does not immediately make a man noble or even good.

Great way to get yourself killed. If you pull a gun on an officer, any other policeman present is liable to shoot you.

Shooting dogs allegedly triggered the shootout at Waco with the people inside believing they were under attack. That's become a standard practice by cops when confronted with the horrifying spector of a wet nose and wagging tail. I blame Ronnie Reagan for starting the process of militarizing the police to combat "drugs".

The cop who did this was a local cop. There is no telling how well he was trained or whether he had any psychological screening before being hired.

Yeah, but just think how cool he would have looked on tape if they had tried something and he then mowed them all down with a single blast. That definitely would have earned inclusion in "Scariest Police Shootouts".

Floyd, are you really this dumb, or have you been spending too much time at the bottom of your bottle of beer?

Yeah, that cop with a 12 guage is jes' gon' sit there and say "Shore thang, Mister Liberterarium, sir, you pull that gun on me and force me to put my shotgun down rather than blow yore sorry stupid ass straight away to hell, 'cause its yore nacheral right to resist the po-lice."

Had that family resisted the police (especially trying to draw weapons) they'd have been dead. Are you a troll, so full of yourself you think you're Rambo, or just plain clueless? Or just BSing as usual?

Lose 30 kilos (of popups)

well I wouldn't go shooting cops. I love my dog, but I'm not going to go to prison for her . I would sue the sh!t out of them though.

But the cop obviously knew nothing about dogs. Some people are scared of my dog. But my dog always has her tail up and wagging around people. A wagging tail is a good indication you aren't going to get your throat ripped out.

Stupid cops.

No they wouldn't because resisting arrest is against the law. The only time you resist police is when your life is on the line, because if it wasn't before, it surely will be once you begin resisting.

The police are authorized to use all necessary force, up to and including deadly force, to subdue a suspect. In this case, the police had reason to believe a violent crime was in progress. If you feel like what the police are doing to you is wrong, you can passively resist, but the moment you start escalating force, you're doomed.

Allowing people to violently resist the police will result in two things, a lot less police (because they won't put their lives on the line anymore) and a lot more dangerous police (because they'll be a lot quicker to escalate force).

Great plan.

Try this the next time a policeman hassles you for something you didn't do. Fight/attack him and when the other policemen (quite legally) kill you you can go to your grave thinking what a proud and noble libertarian you are.

That's the point - resisting arrest should not be illegal in every situation.

OK, but they also shot a dog that was clearly non-threatening. I'm not saying the people should have resisted the police initially, only once the police shot their dog - essentially taking away their property for no cause without a warrant.

A dog, no matter how beloved, is not worth a human life. We only have the family's word for it that the dog wasn't acting in a threatening manner. Granted, it's probable that they are telling the truth.

Put yourself in the cop's situation (I'm defending the police, Lord ). You just stopped a possible car jacking, you've got these people out on the highway, cars whizzing by, it's just you and your partner, and there are these dogs. You can't deal with the dogs because you've got to deal with the people, and now this dog is approaching. You have only a split second to make a decision, and the wrong one might cost you your life. Dog dies.

Alternatively, we might instead today be reading about a dead police officer who was attacked by the carjacker's dog, which distracted him long enough for the carjacker to seize the officer's weapon and use it against him.

There is a time and a place for resisting police and there's a way to do it. By yourself is never the time and the place, and forcefully is only the way if you are certain the police officer is going to murder you regardless of what you do.

Your way would result in much more crime, more dead innocents, more dead police, and unhappier society in general.

This isn't merely here to protect you from your own stupidity. It's here to protect me from the results of your stupidity.
