People who are gang - ho and content to see other people suffering in favor of their "national interests" are the prime reason for the US' horrible image around the world.

There are greater regional threats to peace, but the US is only one of a few nations who can be active anywhere, that is a main point I think.

I wouldn't consider Israel a threat to world peace directly, it's more I think, just like GB a minor threat

but not in the way as the US of course, the US do agressive actions, while Israel is still more or less defending it's own population (even though they do it in a totally wrong way of course)


Btw I wouldn't say that the US are the biggest threat to world peace, but Bush and his entourage, and perhaps you can count his countless zealots (=> people who blindly voted for him) along as well...


I think that an entire population is only seldom a threat to world peace, it's more the leaders, which is logical of course

Well, this is not a big surprise, is it? But this has one failure, it doesn's show if people think it's good or bad.
Now, the US is the only country fighting all the time with various of countries, so it's the biggest 'threat' to peace.
This is a poll just showing who does most fighting and is expected to fight in the future.
There could be a new rising force, NK though..
Because there is only one country that could take many countries into submission, it's the US, so it's the biggest threat right now, but as for world peace there is no big threat. the US is not a threat to world peace. If NK however wants to mess with the world peace, then it's the biggest threat and it seems to like showing off right now so we will see..

Shi, that's exactly my point. The US is not considered as a bad guy, maybe bad boy, but not a bad guy.

Like Iraq for example. We don't see Iraq as a threat to peace, since they can do little damage. Sure they can do damage, but not that much. The US can do lots of damage if it wants to. Afghanistan can't do damage to anyone. So it has to be someone with power and enemies. That's the US, yes?
So this doesn't mean necessarily something negative.

And we also have to consider this from Euro point of view. Are we afraid that the US is going to attack us? I think not.. Are we afraid anyone attacking us for that matter? I think not.. So we don't see the US as a threat to our peace that much, since we're not having problems in that field. Some other countries however have problems with the US and vice versa, and they have only one common thing, they all are against the US, and if we have to pick one country, it's going to have to be the US.

And as for approving the US, the poll would show even higher results. Euros just usually don't like US taking action so fast, but it's not like they like the other side better. So, approving is higher than that, there's no hating in here even if docfeelgood thinks there is .

Same thing, if I go to US, I really don't expect any racist hunts because I'm from Europe. It goes both ways.
