	Time to remove the evil porn poly ad Put an end to popups!

You know the one I'm talking about. "Your girlfriend.....the perfect gift for her" banner. Why should it be removed?

1. Apolyton claims to be a family-friendly site. Sorry, but this add is not very family friendly.

2. A mod recently banned someone for posting a picture of a shirtless male. Should they ban markos for putting this add in?

3. This is personal....I dont believe in these kinds of pictures because I feel a strong connection to my wife and I believe that to look at these pictures is to violate the bond between us (I know, its one of those crazy Mormon reasons. Oh well.)

4. My son has had a problem with pornography for quite some time....him walking in just as that add pops up is not condusive to his recovery.

I know, I can simply "change my style". Barring the fact I actually like Poly adds (other than this one) my style change never seems to stick. I dont want it to suddenly unstick when my son is coming in the room, OK?

So I humblly request that Markos take down this add as again it is not something I believe in, and its not something that I believe a site that claims to be "Family friendly" would put up.

Despite how boring they are, I do monitor the shows my son watches. I haven't seen something quite to that level.

Also, I believe that Poly should be a family friendly site. I'm fine if you TALK about sex, but when pictures get involved I begin to act like an angry mormon.

But quite frankly, I wouldn't quite allow my son to see that television show or station or whatever either because if hes RECOVERING from it, then I'm not going to intentionally or unintentionally expose him to it. And if I do, then I will take all steps I can to rectify the situation.

So you'll have to forgive me if I dont simply "lighten up".

Tassadar- it's not just a crazy mormon thing, especially to try for a strong marriage.

No one should have to look at pictures of female body parts if they don't want to.

That message by NYE actually catched my eye too. It's indeed more of a personal insult, if you refer to someone's avatar when we have a most likely fully legitimate case. Well, I've heard something about him outside Poly too, so I understand that there's a legitimate concern. However I would recommend the use of a pop-up killer and a program to remove any ad banners like the woman in bikini, if you think your son might get disturbed by it as he's recovering.

Some dont like to see reminders of illegal israeli occupation either. Their AVATARS ming and if you dont like mine: REMOVE IT. The issue wasn't if Tass can see halfnude women (I'm sure he has seen naked women too), but if his son could be protected a little bit as he's recovering from being somekind of a pornoholic. I like the women in bikini ad (and no I'm not a pervert). Seriously folks I see much worse walking down the street or going to the beach. If it's considered reasonable public dress, at least here in southern California, then why not allow it on 'poly?

I admite I live at the beach so people put fewer clothes on then in other places but it's hardly pornographic. Neither is the 'poly advert. People should just lighten up and not get worked into a lather over such a minor thing.

Oh come now. Mostly it is my son I worry about....My webpage is poly forums. I always have a window open for poly when I'm on the computer. When he comes by and sees this add...I can tell that hes both excited and disappointed and he wiggles his way out of the room and how he acts all day.
You also have to consider we live in Utah.....This state teaches in school that pronography is NOT a good thing. It was very short, but basically it was a flier of what to do when your child sees pornography. That combined with him having Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Obessive Compuslive Disorder, and major depression with psychotic symptoms...It doesnt help.

I'm sure you can understand?

I understand where you're coming from and if I ever have children then I might change my mind. But for now I think it's ok. As a constructive suggestion you might be able to download one of those banner & pop-up ad blockers off the internet which will solve the problem or you could submite a replacement ad to Markos which doesn't show quite as much skin.

Hmm....Could you point me to something that could do such a thing that doesnt have any spyware in it? Though I still believe that the removal of the ad would make this a family-friendly site, I can be greedy. I just dont want my son exposed to it at all.

I do not see why the add is called pornographic. You got to be kidding me. Walk down the beach anytime anywhere and you see a lot more than on that tiny ad. I do not see why the ad should be removed.

I do not know what the reason was behind removing the post with the shirtless guy but if it was for the reasons you name it was wrong too.
