Game bombed on something related to frigates, which are misspelled drigates in this version. See attachment.

I'm going to replay the last turn I had later, and not build any drigates to see if that works. if it does, maybe an agreement to remain drigateless will be in order.

I will also build a drigate or two this turn!

Did the game bomb as the drigate was created (ie Mpondo had built a drigate) or sometime else. This may be a kind of error we can fix since its probably just a typo. On the other hand, the changes might not take effect in this game file which wouldnt be very good for us.

I'm not 100% sure but I think we may be able to hack this by altering a couple of letters in the PediaIcons file (if you're game).

I'm assuming you've done a standard install for file locations

Look in C:\Program Files\Infogrames Interactive\Civilization III\CIV3PTW\Text

Yes wordpad is fine as a text editor. Find the following text

The other games should all have the same problem when they reach magnetism. I didnt see this in the list of fixes with the 1.21 patch (which we cant play anyway). It probably comes from the original or 1.07 patch bix file with which this game was started. The error has been corrected in the 1.14 bix file.

I vote for no drigates and I'll test my fix later so I can post it.

If you guys make the changes to the PediaIcons.txt I outlined above we can have drigates in our game and Frigates in games started with 1.14 (and probably 1.21).

BTW: yes I used the administrators powers to test this fix but I didnt look at anything specific (just clicked next turn without looking )
