	4 Player PBEM Game - #2 Enter the AD-FREE zone

This is another 4 Player Game that will be simulating out current neighbors on our continent. The Civs will be Spain, China, Ottomans & Arabia. The World will be a Monarch, Pangea, 4 Billion, Raging Barbs, 70% Water & everything else normal.

Ok, ok... I can do it.

I've played enough PTW that I know how it's different... and with no longer being President of the Civ3DG, I might have the time to handle a save each time it pops into my mailbox.

I can take either Spain or the Chinese, but my playstyle is probably more suited to the Spanish.

Doesn't really matter, though... I can play a warmongering Chinese guy if I really need to (though it'll mess with my more builderish instincts ).

I've also already played Spain twice in LAN games, but I suppose LAN games can be different from PBEM games

the purpose of this is to:
1) hone our skills
2) figure our stratigy that might be used against us, so that we can try to counter it.

Arnelos, you might try the Warmongering style a time or two...you might like it...

not at all, i should be able to play turn(s) atleast once or twice a day.

theres just gonna be a good 8 hour whole where i won't be able to.

I'll take either the Spanish or the Chinese. I can do either.

Ninot,

I've played as a warmonger before, I just don't do it very often. I tend to play a hybrid style between builder and warrior (that's somewhat tilted toward builder) and my instincts are honed toward it

That said, I love playing the occassional game as the Vikings or the Mongols and just stomping on people

So I could do it.

I probably should have been last, as I'm at work all day and cannot do the save until I get home @6pm PST.

However, if the rest of you don't mind staying up late at night, we can get a few turns done each evening during the week.

I don't mind staying up tonight, Togas. That sounds very workable... getting several turns done tonight.

You get home at 6 p.m. PST... that's 9 p.m. EST... and if Ninot can do until 12 a.m. EST, that's 3 hours... I'm sure we can get a number of turns done then

I normally stay up too late anyways....

Togas, I made Ninot last because of his school stuff & I didn't know what time zone or anything. Eiter way, even if we get 1 turn a day done, we'll be doing good.

Hehe.... I now have 15 primary city names planned appropriate to the team I'm supposed to be playing as , along with an additional 21 if I ever get around to building them (almost certainly not).

There seem to be 2 methods that are done:

Method 1:
1) shut down Civ3, if running
2) launch Civ3 fresh clean
3) load the savegame received from last player through Main Menu - Load Game
4) play your turn & hit End Turn button
5) save the game
6) shut down Civ3
7) forward the save

Method 2:
1) Start the game
2) Hit Multiplayer
3) Make sure, Location is set to Local games and not to Internet.
4) Hit Host
5) Make sure, the Game rules are standard. At the left side, all options shall be checked, at the right side only Preserve Random Seed and Allow Cultural Conversions. Especially make sure, that Accelerated Production is not set.
6) Set Game Type to Play By Email.
7) Set Game Mode to Load Game.
8) Choose the game to load in the dialogbox.
9) Hit Launch.
10) Enter your password.
11) Play the turn. It is not allowed to save and reload during the turn, due to the production bug.
12) Hit the End Turn Button.
13) Save the game after the Save and Exit dialog shows up.
14) The file name willl be the name the game proposes by default.
15) Send the turn to your successor.

Count me in as an alternate for this game also as necessary.

If I am to take someones turns, I will need to get a PM from that person (so I will know to go check my email) along with the password if that was set up. If you use me and want to pass on some orders, that is fine. I will be playing as alternate in case someone goes on vacation or some such similar thing that will keep them away for a while and that the game would otherwise stall down for.

Ok, I'll play with some new strategies then... might as well try out something new

That said, I'm still using my cool GoW-ish citynames (wish I had Rome rather than China for this, but oh well)
