There is a story running on CNN that whites make up a disproportionate number of front line troops in today's armed forces. This is just the opposite of what Rangel said when he advocated reinstitution of a draft.

Do we need AA in the armed forces to so that minorities share the risk of combat equally?

Anyway, it's very funny to see that you don't address my arguments at all. Have you even read my post? I'm against taking race in any form to be indicative for intellectual potential and you should follow my line of argument to see that exactly from this position I get to the opinion that AA is rather a correcting tool for structural inequalities. Have you met people with a 2.0 GPA? Would you want them to be your doctor?

The main point is, that a lot of minorities do get into to school with achievements higher than whites, however, AA diminishes their accomplishments. In return, it increases the accomplishments of white people. For a white man who managed to get into medical despite AA working against him, must have worked his ass off and been pretty spectacular.

In the US, there are so many protected minorities, women included, that the only class that is not protected are while males, who themselves are a minority.

Give this, what is more likely

1) the percentage of white males on campus are about the same as society as a whole;

2) greater than society as a whole; or

3) less?

Fried Chicken and collard greens are consumed on the ESoMD in huge quantities. I challenge you to find any substantial difference between rural folk in Alabama and those on the ESoMD. Having lived in TN, AL, and MD, I can assure that there isn't much difference. Certainly no greater than differences that exist between Tennesseans, Mississippeans, Texans, Alabamans, etc.

But people who go for jobs are far more likely to be stiffed through AA in favour of women than blacks... although it's clear you'd much rather whine about perceived racial discrimination

Obviously I can't give you any figures for anything, but it's quite clear that saying no white people benefit from AA is a load of tosh.
