The ESoMD is staunchly Republican, by about a 2-1 margin. However, it is outpopulated by the Western Shore. But I'm not talking about Maryland as a whole, just the ES. But you know that and are grasping.
And I guarantee you that, now that a Republican has been elected Governor, the GOP will consider Maryland a big target in 2004.

Kentucky is considered Southern by many. Florida, by and large, isn't considered culturally "southern" in the same vein that Alabama or Georgia are.
And keep in mind also that there was considerable support for the CSA in Maryland, and it was by declaring martial law that it remained with the Union.
Oh, and for the record, The Mason-Dixon line wouldn't be applicable to CA, as it didn't extend west of the PA/MD border.

Have you been paying attention at all?
AA also benefits poor whites. There is also AA for athletes and children of alumni.
I do not fit into any of these categories. And I do like AA.

Not at all. MrFun quotes something he had already posted. I edited my reply so long after I originally posted that I thought it would be pretty likely that you would miss it.

Anyway, to give an actual response, if it is said that the greatest beneficiaries of AA are women, then given that it uses gender to identify this group, we can say that the AA is based around gender; thus, white women are more likely, populationwise the greatest beneficiaries. Black women probably do have a double advantage at employers who use AA. But people who go for jobs are far more likely to be stiffed through AA in favour of women than blacks... although it's clear you'd much rather whine about perceived racial discrimination |
Right, its "percieved" racial discrimination. AA discriminates on the basis of race, so it is racial discrimination.

Obviously I can't give you any figures for anything, but it's quite clear that saying no white people benefit from AA is a load of tosh. |
I already agreed that a small amount of white people have benefited from AA.

That is quite possibly the worst argument I've ever heard.
