I think that the growing gap in scores is one of the things that scared Vox into honesty and trade.

Shiber, I don't care about the scores... lego has most likely connected a luxury, which means most of their citizens are happy, instead of content. And their territory size won't be terrible either... If Vox is scared from that, thy are not looking at the right numbers.

DeepO, neither am I. I understand that had we settled on the fur tile, where our settler started the game, we would be where Legoland is now in terms of score. However, like you stated, some people fail to understand the insignificance of scores in the early phase of the game.
I realize that by settling in an unoptimal pattern, where each new city adds 9 new tiles to your territory, and connecting luxuries before they are needed, we can get a higher score, and that scores are calculated based upon numbers that are mostly irrelevant to your actual success in the REX phase. I was only joking about Legoland's score.

As to territory: when going for the best score, you can build in such a pattern that each city will give a minimum of 12 tiles, not 9... to cover those 12 extra tiles, we build 2 cities.

I meant before building temples too. By placing a city right outside of a border, it will connect the two borders (there are some rules for it, in this case the rule that all tiles which are bordered from two opposite sides by a tile within a teams border will fall in the border too).

So, for each city you build, you can have the 9 normal tiles, and an extra 3 'connected' tiles.
