Is it possible to get a position? I would like to lead the settlers and soldiers marching north to found our fourth city. If not, I'll take anything else you can throw at me...

btw shouldnt we colonize the spot right south of the gold in the northeastern mountain range?

In fact I think we should make that a priority so the demogyptians dont build there, then build the saragossa city with the new settler coming from pamplona. alternatively the silk\coastal city as second...

ps where did those GoW thugs come from?

LzPrst - welcome.

Lord Togas has decreed that I am to govern Saragossa, and I know that Señor Tamali (E_T) is itching to be a governor. Thankfully, we are getting into good REX now, so more new cities should be coming soon.

With regards to the spot you mentioned in the northeastern mountain range - if we built a city there now it would be isolated, undefensible (to war and culture), and totally corrupt. If you check The Map Room thread, you will see what our intentions are with regard to city sites and their priorities.

First of all, welcome to Spain!

LzPrst, the best way to obtain a responsibility position in Spain is to actively participate in the forums. Giving ideas, expressing your opinion, and aporting positive things to the government of Spain. If your colaborations prove to be worth from Spain I'm sure that the Great Togas will think about you for a position sooner or later.

Anyway don't worry too much about that. The best is to start slow and time will tell. The glorious story of Spain is just starting!

And for my amusement as well, I hope. You see, the next Pamplona festival needs Bullfighters who are willing to die. Most chaps are too smart these days, bulls go down too easily. However, the public would like to see a few chaps get the horns every so often, and so a few captured bar-bars would, you know, be a good bunch of chaps to send in the ring without a sword, if you get me.

Madrid group raided the Bantu barbarians, taking only slight damage and bringing home more loot for Spain.

The Magyars rested.

TEG followed GoW EAST, and discovered another group of rogues to the south-east, these ones are on the move. They are likely the Macromanni barbarians that our Military advisor warned were near Pamplona.

The Pamplona warriors also moved east.

These sedentary barbarians are going to stay in our vicinity for a long time since there is so much land to settle.

I think we should dedicate at least one unit to constant patrols of the south to take advantage of the bounty of free gold that could be at our disposal.

What I love most about this whole "scuffle" with GoW is that while their warriors were in Spain, they might have seen a few lux and iron, but most of what they saw were mountains, hills, deserts, and plains ... and lots of 'em. When they leave they will assume that were were trying to hide the gems and silks and iron, etc ... but they will also believe that spain's primary make-up is unsettleable land that does not promote growth. They will believe our story that Cow Valley is our best place for growth. They may hear rumors from ND that there is some good land to the south, but all they've seen in bad land, they may not buy into it. They may also feel like if we have a few tiles of good land here or there in the south, that it's alright ... makes up for all the lousey land everywhere else.
