I don't get it... The article says that a car mechanic and a government employee in Iraq were both happy about the Columbia tragedy. It said nothing about Saddam or an official gov't statement saying that...

I'm not defending Saddam here, or saying that he was broken up over Columbia, but I just don't get how that article translates to the Iraqi government saying they're happy about it.

Is there another, more detailed article I don't know about?

Hm, the Iraqi government didn't say anything in the Reuter's article. It could be a popular reaction, but since only like three people were quoted and nobody knows exactly what "popular" is, it's all very vague now.

And, I did not cater towards racism -- a couple of times already, I have pointed out that my anger is directed towards Palestinian extremists -- not all Palestinians, as an ethnic group.

So let me get this straight...

We kick Saddam's ass twelve years ago, encourage revolt, screw down tight with sanctions, destroy any radar installation dumb enough to lock onto one of our planes, send inspectors in to disarm them, call them liars, threaten them with war, etc., etc., etc., and all Saddam's 'God' can do by way of DIVINE RETRIBUTION is plink a twenty-two year old spacecraft?
