There are the Russians (have a huge chunk of the map to themselves) you could rename them Cossacks, Poland, Pomeranians, or something.

Oh, and I need to change my color from Black to Prussian Blue.

Cool. Move Austria a bit eastwards and make them Hungarians. Normally they should be ... let's think... militaristic + religious? And the special unit definitely should be the Huszar (so a cavalry). What civ does fit best in this picture?

The color should be some sort of green.

I don't see Religious, Austria would be more likely to be Commercial or Scientific. Or you could rename Russia and rename the Cossacks to Huszar. If you want to play religious and militaristic why don't you play the Celts.

Of course I would say Prussia would be more Industrious than Scientific.

I'll move the Austrian start location to the area of Buda-Pest.

I think keeping Russia around would be a good idea. Changing America or Zulu to the Hungarians would be better.

GF, the Hungarians are not Austrians. They were a mongoloid, warrior-like tribe (fierce horsemen) that came from the Urals (aproximately) and settled in the Pannonian Fields (central-eastern Europe) in 896 AC. In 1000 AC, after several warlords who conquered a good deal of land in the area, Stephen (the Saint) adopted christianity, was recognized by the Pope and became the first King of the Hungarian Kingdom. The Kingdom became one of the greatest powers of central and eastern Europe and was for several centuries the "shield of Christianity", defending with succes Europe against the ottomans (the most known battle is perhaps Janos Hunyadi defeating the turks at Belgrade).
In the XVIth century the power of the Kingdom has weakened and the ottomans occupied almost the entire Hungary and kept it for about 200 years.
The union with Austria came after that and it was actually an austrian occupation for 200 years and a union for the last 50 years, before WW1.
After WW1, Hungary lost 2/3 of its territories and became vassal of the Sovjets. End of story.

So yes, there is a strong cultural link and friendship with the Austrians but that's it.

Aren't the aztecs militarisctic - religious, too? Nah, it would be too strange to play with them and pretend that they are europeans

OK, final decision:

Trip, if nobody takes the russsians, could you make them mil-rel and rename the Cossaks in Hussars, please? That would be the best solution (and move them west a bit )

In case somebody else takes the russioans: move the austrians east and use the celts for them.

Tiberius, what would you say to starting in Hungary? It would keep balance between the line that goes through France, Germany, and the Balkans.

Also, would everyone check and see if the information in the first post is correct? I have everything updated with what I know to be the most current information. Civs in parenthesis are civs that were converted from another civ (e.g. Greece becomes Bulgaria).

If you have any last minute choices for colors, etc. please mention them now, along with non-obvious parameters for your civ details (i.e. adjective, noun, leadername, etc.). I'm not hunting for leader names.
