I want to ask something: What would you do if you have the possibility to eliminate someone early in the game (let say before 2000 BC)? And how do youthink the game will be won? Last man standing, Space ship, diplomacy, domination?

I don't think the game will last until a space ship, diplomatic or cultural victory. Probably "last man standing", IMHO.

ormuzd: you mean right now? I wouldn't do it. If I found every single capital defenseless and I conquered them ASAP, where would be the fun of the game? It isn't forbidden or immoral to do that, but what's the fun in it?
Fun is to outsmart somebody, or conquer by fight and strategy, to outresearch or to isolate diplomaticaly and cripple by trade embargos; things like that. Conquering an empty capital, bah, that's too easy.

But I'd try to obtain some advantages from the situation
