OFFICIAL: How many more units do we need to atack Graz? Put an end to popups!

Note: that while we build the second stack we need to decide where to send the Huge Army here. Both results are very connected

We did managed the creation of a huge amy with 12 units but we found out the Graz is really well protected as you can see in the picture below.

So we need a second army?
If we do, how many units do we need to atack it together with our huge army?

Note if you vote tha first option (Dont build) we can still build a second army but it wont atack Graz

Help yourself to an AD-FREE life

Is a warrior still our best attacking unit? I would see this second stack attack first. Swap/exchange units with our twelve stack to get 4warriors+4archers to attack Graz and soften the target before our 12 stack attacks. Or do people think Hoplites would last longer and give our Archers more chance to wear the defenders down?
Of course this army will die - quite a cost!

Edit DOH! OR attack with our 12 first and they may win with some casulties and use this second stack to resuply the lost units. Might be more economical?

I must admit i don't like those two samuris

In my opinion we should lay siege to the city with this large stack (positioning it to minimize chance of reinforcement from other locations and to maximize defence,) and build another stack asap... splitting produced units between extra defenders and units to attack Graz. We shall form a second army, attack with both and take Graz.

To construct this army, I suggest borrowing from current defenders, to speed the buildup, and mainly from the east... leave the western towns as garrisonned as we can make them:

We can continue building troops in all cities.

We initiate a move of 3 from CL to Pedrunnia. One turn later, we initiate a move of 2 from Mapfipolis to CL. One turn later we move 6 from Pedrunnia towards Graz. This stack is met by 2 built units from Pressburg/HTown.

The 12 stack attacks. Then the 8 stack takes the city.

If (or better stated, when) the AI gets twitchy and decides to task the defenders to another task outside the city, we waltz right in. We split up the extra army to defend the appropriate points.

We send Bait out again, when healthy to be early warning in the North.

So what frontline unit types do you think would be best for this attack, Hoplites/warriors?
