Eek! According to what Vondrack says, ND is trying to sell our contact to GS! Since we're going to get Lego's contact anyway, Lego would just be handing over money to ND's hands in exchange for nothing.
quote:
[20:36] Nimitz: hey so how GS doing
[20:36] Shiber: very good, thanks
[20:36] Shiber: our differences with GoW have been resolved
[20:36] Nimitz: thats good
[20:37] Shiber: they agreed to compensate us for their violation of the treaty
[20:37] Nimitz: how
[20:37] Shiber: i believe a message explaining everything has been sent to your ambassador
[20:37] Shiber: i'm not sure if i am authorized to reveal the details of that agreement
[20:37] Nimitz: well ok when hes on he can tell us
[20:38] Shiber: it's not that they traded us some secret alien technology or something, lol
[20:38] Shiber: i'm just not sure if DeepO would approve if i went "over his head"
[20:38] Nimitz: what they got Synthetic fibers
[20:38] Shiber: yeah, from a goodie hut
[20:39] Shiber: they're producing an army of modern armor to destroy ND as we speak
[20:39] Nimitz: lol
[20:40] Shiber: they'll finish their first tank in 102 turns, and then ND should better run away while they can!
[20:40] Nimitz: wow that fast
[20:40] Shiber: anyway, your team is kindof holding the save
[20:40] Shiber: not that i have anything against it
[20:40] Shiber: i'm not sure if any of our players could play our turn right now even if you did pass the save
[20:40] Shiber: i'm just curious
[20:41] Nimitz: well vondrack is off at some dinner party
[20:42] Nimitz: and we're working on a deal for maybe getting your contact
[20:43] Shiber: what do you mean?
[20:43] Shiber: you want GoW to sell you guys our contact or something?
[20:43] Nimitz: no ND
[20:43] Shiber: oh
[20:44] Shiber: won't they be violating some sort of agreement?
[20:44] Nimitz: not that we know of
[20:44] Shiber: i thought that GoW strictly prohibited any team that they sell your contact to from whoring off your contact on their own
[20:44] Shiber: therefore, ND is breaking a treaty
[20:45] Shiber: damn those Bobian civs, they're just hopeless...
[20:45] Nimitz: no they seal you to us
[20:45] Nimitz: not us to you
[20:45] Shiber: oh, that's completely different though
[20:45] Nimitz: right
[20:45] Shiber: lol, and i was starting to get real pissed off at ND
[20:45] Shiber: lol, i feel stupid now
[20:45] Nimitz: and no sale for ND
[20:45] Nimitz: not ND I mean GoW
[20:46] Shiber: and you intend to close this deal this turn?
[20:46] Nimitz: yes most likely
[20:47] Nimitz: We thought it would be good to let you know
|
PLEASE ADVISE QUICKLY, THEY'RE GOING TO SUM UP THE DEAL WITH ND. Do we want to let them go through with it and give ND money for essentially nothing, or do we want to advise them not to make this deal?

Are we allowed to tell Lego not to go through with the deal? I mean, your discussion is stricly "outside of the game", right? So Neu is just jumping on an opportunity here (as they should).
It would be great to deny them money, but I want to make sure we're allowed to do so.

Did we know this already? not sure.. |
Yes, GoW told us that they are searching for iron overseas, and that they have found one island already, though no iron deposits can be found there.
Edit: bleah, I meant to post this in the discussion thread.

Chats with Panzer32 and Togas, times are GMT+2:00.
Note Panzer32 squirming when I ask for details about Vox's attacks. Note Togas spilling the beans about GoW's tech desires.
quote:
[21:27] Panzer32: has your team discussed the Feudalism proposal?
[21:27] Shiber: I trust it that you fare well.
[21:27] Shiber: Port Isolation hasn't fallen, has it?
[21:28] Panzer32: No. There is plenty of defensive terrain around there.
[21:28] Shiber: But your city is not even on a hill.
[21:29] Panzer32: We get immortals with horsemen, the turn after they land.
[21:29] Shiber: Plains don't provide that much protection, and Vox have landed straight on that hill.
[21:29] Panzer32: I mean, before they can move.
[21:29] Shiber: You had your horsemen ready in Port Isolation for such a case?
[21:30] Panzer32: Its not the most optimal situation; Vox placed that city poorely
[21:30] Shiber: You had horsemen in Port Isolation, and attacked the immortals while they were on hills?
[21:30] Shiber: You must be very lucky. How many immortals did you scrath?
[21:30] Shiber: *scratch
[21:31] Panzer32: Yes, we had at least 3 horsemen right around there, and more are on their way.
[21:32] Panzer32: The thing is that Vox wants the area north of Port Isolation, so they haven't dropped off all of their troops right at PI.
[21:32] Panzer32: Then, of course, they are spreading out their forces with attacking both of us.
[21:32] Shiber: Regarding the tech deal, I suggest that you send us a confirmed offer for 100 gold and 5 gpt (confirmed so we could have the gold immediately next turn, otherwise we can't research at full speed, since our coffers are nearly empty and we need cash to burn through)
[21:32] Shiber: Panzer32, how many immortals have you sighted? And killed?
[21:33] Panzer32: so, GS accepts the deal?
[21:33] Shiber: Panzer32, I can't say yet, but we certainly can't pull it off if you don't send an approved in-game proposal *this turn*.
[21:34] Shiber: I can assure you that should we choose not to accept the deal after all, we will deny the gold.
[21:34] Panzer32: Actually, I don't really look too often at the save; I believe we've got 2 or 3 so far.
[21:34] Shiber: We're not going to pull a fast one on you there, lol
[21:34] Shiber: Panzer32, can you have a look please?
[21:34] Shiber: I thought you weren't getting the saves anymore at all.
[21:35] Panzer32: I get them forwarded from GF
[21:36] Shiber: Can you have a look please?
[21:37] Panzer32: yes. I just need to save the saves from email.
[21:38] Shiber: Btw, you realize that your team will be obliged to a 10-turn NDA on Feudalism from the moment that you receive it, right?
[21:40] Panzer32: NDA = no trade, right?
[21:41] Shiber: Correct.
[21:41] Panzer32: ok, I looked at the save.
[21:41] Shiber: As in our previous dealings.
[21:41] Panzer32: I thought it was 7 turns
[21:41] Shiber: Since we are providing Feudalism earlier, we want to increase the NDA's duration to 10 turns.
* At this point the server was reset and everyone got disconnected. When I got back, Panzer32 wasn't there. Probably ran home to GhengisFarb and posted on the GoW forum asking what he should tell me ("umm, let me just open the save here… and ask GF what the hell to do!!").

quote:
[21:40] Shiber: May I ask you something?
[21:46] Shiber: Togas, may I ask you something?
[21:47] Togas: sure
[21:48] Shiber: How certain are you that Vox aren't really invading Bob?
[21:48] Shiber: That "Operation McArthur" is just a ruse.
[21:48] Togas: pretty sure
[21:48] Togas: but not 100%
[21:48] Shiber: Can I ask for your sources? If that's not too much.
[21:48] Togas: what services, exactly?
[21:49] Shiber: services?
[21:49] Togas: oh, sources! sorry
[21:49] Togas: My sources are the public PTW boards and other nations we've chatted with.
[21:49] Togas: I don't have any secret sources or anything.
[21:50] Shiber: I'm having strong suspicions that GoW are collaborating with Vox on this one.
[21:50] Togas: it's possible, GoW likes to get involved with everything
[21:50] Shiber: They are telling us that they are fighting Vox, but when asked for details, Panzer32 started squirming and providing excuses.
[21:50] Togas: but GoW wouldn't want Vox on Bob, so if they are collaborating, that means Vox won't be invading bob
[21:51] Shiber: I got disconnected by mistake (possibly been DoS'ed by Panzer32 so he could get away; the machine I'm using is an unprotected Windows ME) and when I got back, Panzer32 was gone.
[21:51] Togas: I got discon too
[21:51] Togas: I think apolyton reset or something
[21:51] Shiber: Ohh. "Reset by peer"?
[21:51] Shiber: Ahh well.
[21:52] Shiber: and I was about to say "It's too bad that I don't have a firewall or at least a packet logger on this machine so I could know for sure"!! lol
[21:52] Shiber: I'm just a paranoid geek
[21:53] Togas:
[21:55] Togas: Anyhow, if you think Gow is involved ... what will GS do? Do you feel GoW presents much of a threat?
[21:56] Shiber: To GS? Absolutely not.
[21:56] Shiber: Oh, btw, they've been trying to sell you Feudalism, right?
[21:56] Togas: they say they're researching it.
[21:57] Shiber: GoW is lying. They are violating an NDA.
[21:57] Shiber: I suggest that you don't buy Feudalism from them. Our price is low enough, and we can spread the payments to just gpt.
[21:58] Togas: Nice. Lego told us that another team is researching it ... probably GoW. But Lego could be wrong.
[21:58] Shiber: GoW were researching it, but they stopped about five turns ago.
[21:58] Togas: doesn't surprise me. They need cash for Riders.
[21:58] Shiber: In any case, even if they didn't stop back then, and kept researching at full speed, they would still need at least five more turns from now to complete Feudalism.
[22:00] Togas: True, but money is the issue
[22:00] Togas: You see, we have Monarchy. GoW doesn't.
[22:01] Togas: They want it. Therefore, we have potential for a decent trade.
[22:02] Togas: we've spent too much on tech, are burdened with GPT deals right now, and are warry of new ones.
[22:06] Shiber: Why is GoW so eager for Monarchy?
[22:06] Shiber: The free unit support issue?
[22:06] Togas: It's better than despotism
[22:07] Shiber: Yes, but not as nifty as Republic.
[22:07] Togas: bah
[22:07] Togas: Republic is for wussies
[22:07] Shiber: Reason?
[22:07] Togas: Warmongers prefer Monarchy
[22:07] Shiber: War weariness?
[22:10] Shiber: Togas, are you there?
[22:10] Togas: yes
[22:11] Shiber: Do you think that WW is one of the reasons that they are preferring Mon. over Republic? (if you are allowed to say)
[22:11] Togas: no idea
[22:15] Shiber: Well, it's been a pleasure, but I must leave now. RL is calling.
[22:15] Shiber: Gotta study some Physics.
[22:16] Togas: Take care
[22:16] Shiber: Take care
[22:16] Shiber: lol!!
[22:16] Togas:
[22:16] Shiber: See you around
[22:16] Togas: later

quote: GhengisFarb: Are you there?
Aeson: Yes, I am now. Sorry for the delay in response (if there was one)
GhengisFarb: We received an offer from Shiber for Feudalism in two turns if we give you 100 gold up front and 5 gold per turn. Is this correct?
Aeson: Let me check the forum, I don't think we've officially decided on any offer yet though.
Aeson: this is what I think you are referencing: "Shiber: Regarding the tech deal, I suggest that you send us a confirmed offer for 100 gold and 5 gpt (confirmed so we could have the gold immediately next turn, otherwise we can't research at full speed, since our coffers are nearly empty and we need cash to burn through)"
Aeson :I have to say one thing, I think Shiber's math is off
Aeson: it would be 3 turns almost surely.
GhengisFarb: A one turn difference isn't a big deal I just want to know if the offer is valid, in which case I will send our side (100gold and 5gpt) and click accept this turn so that you have the money your next turn.
Aeson: It would have a 10 turn NDA according to what Shiber said.
Aeson: longer NDA because you would be getting it earlier
GhengisFarb: Like we want to give it to anyone, we won't to keep ND from getting it as long as possible as whichever of us gets Chivalry first has the edge in our upcoming war.
Aeson: I'm not able to officially decide these things either, so I can't give confirmation. The issue is up for debate in our forum right now. Do you have the save at this point?
GhengisFarb: Yes, this is the only thing holding us from sending it on. |
GF contacted me in chat. Just thought I'd post this. They are holding the save and would agree to a 10 turn NDA, sending us 100g + 5gpt this turn. We would send them Feudalism in 3 turns.
