	How about a few InterTeam MP games? Support Apolyton

I know that in the future there will be much more to do; but in the mean time would anyone be interested in setting up some MP (non-PBEM!) games between us team memebers. I'm not really into the one-on-one duals (though I could do a few if everyone's into that sort), I'd like to have 5-6 players (in each game) who could play for 2-3 hours at a time on a regular basis. It would be a good way to get to know each other and also a way to learn from each other.

I can play mostly in the late evenings, after 10 pm and sometimes all day on Sundays and Mondays. My time zone is PST, which is, I believe, 8 hours behind GMT

Let me know if you're interested and at what times you'd be available. We would have to password all games so as to not let outsiders hear any talk about our ISDG that we talk about from time to time from within our MP game.

I would like to see at least 2 games that reflect our current game makeup (i.e. the same number of civs, the same nations, settings) and keep those in this forum only. This way, we can try some different Strategies that might be later used against us (and ways to counter them). If we don't have enough people who are willing to play, we could double up the civs.

I'll play some.....

Not unless it is secure; for our team members only. The reason is that I'd like to be able to discuss things, in game possibly, about our ISDG. That is why I asked in this forum and not anywhere else. I'm not willing to share my 'secrets of playing' with just anyone.

BTW, I'm not talking about any PBEM games I want to play MP, either simultaneous or turn based.

Why would they have to be PBEM's? We can surely learn what we need to in a regular Mp game (either simutaneous or turn based). We can set up a passworded game in which a scenario (a map based on current intell of Apolyton's position) and play; over and over again; with updates being made to the map/scenario as we learned more about the map from the ISDG.

A PBEM game would just take too long for us to glean any worthwhile information as we'd have to play multiple games (up to a certain point) for us to give a fair evaluation. I fear that the ISDG game would outpace us if we too played it the same way.

because some of use don't have the time to play a online game. I might attempt to play a couple of them a month, but I can play atleast 1 turn a day in a month (maybe more if all of the players are online at the same time).

How about a PBEM where we have chats every so often (so it goes faster)? If we sort into games with similar availibility times, we could go through the games much more quickly than regular PBEM, but with the more strategy/planning than MP. We also don't have to deal with lag/etc. that is known to plague MP games.

If we can do a chat PBEM, I am in... available 20:30 to 0300 GMT on weekdays.

Cool, I'll add you to the list. I'm GMT-8 though, since you said 'afternoons' noon that would be 9 hours earlier for me . It's still possible though. Would you care to be in on the PBEM games also?


When we actually get started I'm not sure yet, maybe in another week once a few more people get over their initial 'shyness' and ACTUALLY SIGN UP!

Even with the new patch? I haven't had many problems at all. I just make sure that everyone has a low ping and with 5-6 players it's all good. I usually host the games also, how many different hosts did you try?

Would you be willing to try a PBEM game with your teammates?

Since people had to vouch for you to get in here (I guess) you are no doubt a non-pirate, correct?

I've 'read' that there are 'things' that allow you to run a program (as long as it's on your harddrive) without the CD. Maybe you should look into one of those things, whatever they are, I don't know, I only 'heard' about them.............

I'm in the middle of 3 PBEM games, 2 of them are really big.
I could accomodate one more though.

Ok, what the heck is going on here!?

I had a post about half way up that I was using to list players for the game and now it is gone. Did one of you guys that I instructed to edit the post (to add in your email address) delete the post? If so, you suck!

This was the specific post I'm talking about (I had it linked to some PM's I sent out, that's why I still have the link to it):

It's no longer valid. I'd guess only because someone deleted it. Does anyone have the power to check into this to see what happened?
