Calm down, only mods have the power to delete posts. |
Mods usually ONLY have the power to edit posts also; but ALL can do it here.
Would to care to test this? Whether or not another could delete your post? Why don't you go ahead and post somethnig here, like: "delete me" and I'll see if I can do it.

Besides, whenever anybody edits a post .. even if they didn't write it originally ... the post is stamped with their name and the time they did it - see what I did to GT's post above this one (note: I didn't delete any text, just made an addition).
It isn't possible for us to edit each other's posts without it being obvious to everybody that we have done so. |
But I edited his post within 5 minutes and my name didn't pop-up on the bottom; just one of the things we'll have to live with I guess.
But I STILL want to know what happened to my post. Wouldn't you be a little dismayed if one of your suddenly went AWOL?

Ok with every one except ZargonX signed up (I added him in since he would be #8 anyways) we are ready to assign Civ's to people.
Since the Dow ended today at 7,775.60; we use 6 as the place number for the person that is going to get the first turn. Number 1 will play the first turn and be assigned the Civ that also played the first turn in the ISDG game:
1. E_T -- Indians -- e_t_1@mpinet.com
2. Trip -- Egyptians -- TripGoT@hotmail.com
3. ZargonX -- Persians -- jhaddock@crunchable.net
4. bigfree1 -- Ottomans -- bigfree1@attbi.com
5. GeneralTacticus -- Carthinigians -- angusniven@hotmail.com
6. BetaHound -- Chinese -- brucehynes57@rogers.com
7. Tarquinius -- Arabs -- redmar_damsma@hotmail.com
8. Panzer32 -- French -- dmurray5 [censored] cogeco.ca
If people want to switch among themselves, that's fine, ask someone if they want to switch.
Since E_T has the first turn may I ask you to set-up the game according to the parameters of our ISDG game? I would like for the game to start tommorow, March 6, any questions?
Also it would be nice if we could arrange a chat session so that we could play some of the early turns fairly quickly; can everyone make it for sometime Saturday between 7pm and 9pm GMT?
Post below if you can make it.

Just to get this started, I wen't ahead and started the game off and have already sent the first turn off to Trip. I'll start a threat and link it here (ISDG Internal PBEM #1 Game ) for posting the turn having been sent.

I'm using 1.21 and it worked fine. I'd assume then that E_T set the game up using 1.21.
There's a thread in the PBEM forum of how to install both versions by using two different zip files to overwrite game files needed by both versions. I haven't tried it, but it sounded pretty solid.

We have 4 people whom are in the same timezone: Batahound; Panzer32; ZargonX and myself. As I'll be setting up the game, I'll go first. If any of you other three have free times that are different than normal (or anyone else for that matter), please post here or edit this order, so that we can make this game flow as smoothly as possible.
[EDIT] Added the choices form everybody
The civs are:
China - E_T #1.
India - Tarquinius #2.
Egypt - Tarquinius #1, Trip #2, bigfree1 #3.
Persia - Trip #1, Panzer32 #2, ZargonX #2, E_T #3, GeneralTacticus #3.

Please also post if you DONOT want to be in this second game, so that we can get a replacement.
