hi ,
actually its easy , they are cheaper then most earopean copies , click the link on poly / civ III , price , ....
and since you fly the dutch flag , if you cant order one and want it , ... there are people who shall mail it for you then ( panag being one )
or you might look in game shops , if they still have copies from the first batch ( that one is US english ! )
or the special edition , ...
or find a good comp shop and ask them to order a US copy from amazon , most small comp shops order from amazon anyway , thus point out that you want a US copy , ....
have a nice early morning

In fact its damned incompetant of the programmers to leave it so long.
There thats got that off my chest, I feel much better now. |
hi ,
well its every single other laguage version that has not a 1.21 patch , ....
since the patch fixes a whole bunch of things , .... an hardcore player shall get his or her hands at a US english version , ..... even when one would pay 100 USD / EUR for it , its still cheap for all the hours of fun , .....
now there are copies that have an intro in the four scandinavian languages , ....
infogrames france has given to some stores the US version , ...... (!)
anyway , remember this the next time you buy a game , still its no excuse , ......
have a nice day

I'm seeking some clarification.
Am I correct in assuming that I can not get the latest patched single-player game without purchasing the PTW expansion? I do not play TBS games multi-player, nor do I wish to. All I want is a playable, and enjoyable, single-player experience. I hear Civ3 might actually be worth it with the latest patches. However, if I need to purchase the expansion and patch /that/ to get the best single-player experience currently available for Civ3, then screw it.

P.S. I'm in the US, so unlike the international folks waiting for a patch, I'm not double screwed.

you can download that from apolyton , just go to the /civIII section
PTW is an expansion pack with its own patches , ...

I will not spend money on an expansion that provides an experience that should have been available from the first. I don't do that for any other genre or game, and Civ3 is no different.
So, I guess my question boils down to, does the 1.29f patch make Civ3 a worthwhile game, finally? And, frankly, none of you can answer that question for me.
*grin* Looks like I have an excuse to re-install and check it out myself. Yay!
