I have a euro version of PTW so it depends when (if?) there is a 1.21 patch for that or if it is even necessary for everyone to be using 1.21?

I'd be interested, depends on how many players you wanted.

Also, I have the English version, so I can't update with a patch at the mo.

We won't start before the euro patch is out anyway, civ choice can take some time too so..
I was thingking 3 teams (2 players each).
(if no one signs up anymore)

How do we forms teams? Any suggestions?

I am actually in another team (3 teams of 2) PBEM. The guy who set it up had his daughter draw lots for the teams. That is one way.

Or we can choose (a bit difficult if you don't really know the other players).

I would go random but don't really mind how we sort out teams.

It is essential to sort out how much (if any) contact by email the team members are allowed before meeting in the game.

maybe it's better if we choose the teams depending from the geographic position. This is very possible that everyone will team with his neighbor. The only problem is what will we do if there are two continents and on every of them there are three players.
But anyway the random will not be fair for some of us.

making Teams upfront sounds less complicated to me.

I say we give the chance for people to make/choose their own teams.Either by e-mail or PM each other. If that doesn't succeed we use the hat-trick

That reminds me if everyone could give their GMT and e-mail address (try to code it ), I'll edit them into the first post.

GMT. I can usually play between 1900 and 2200 GMT on weekday evenings and through most of the day at weekends.

As far as teams go I don't mind who I am in a team with. My playing style is generally builder with selective warmongering from time to time. I play SP at monarch.

Hmm, what is this, a european game ? Everybody is GMT, GMT+1 or GMT+2 so far

Then maybe we should choose european civs and make the teams based on traditional european alliances.

Map - standard or large?

I don't mind what type of map but prefer normal climate/temperature/age.

Civ choice should be free IMO
Standard map with 6 civ's only is big enough too.

Are guys going random, or do you think you can come to an agreement? (re: team choice)

Still no rush, again game will not start until the euro 1.21 is out.

A few other thoughts, tell me what you think about them.

1. I'll will create 4 similar games, we play turn one for all of these.
After that teams get 50 points to divide over the various saves. (minimum1 points, maximum 30 ?)

The game with the most points will be used.

Good idea. But what means "teams get 50 points" - my team mate and I will have total of 50 pts or everyone will have 50 points to score every of the 4 saves?

Every team (or even member) will have 50 points in total which then can use to divide amongst the different saves.
ie;
you very much like save 1, so you give it 30 P
hate save 2, so that's 1p
You think the two others are ok, you you can them 9 and 10 points each.

The save that accumaltes the most points, will be played out.

Yes, it is better to make an initial choice from 3 or 4 starts. I see no point in arguing over the method so am happy to go with Alva's suggestion.

I can live with random climate, temperature and map but can we stay with 4 billion age - I really hate 3 billion worlds.
