Jesus, I never intended this to become a flame fest but I guess I should have known better.

Just got through saying goodbye to someone very special. This goodbye stuff has always sucked. I was talking about how I was supposed to be getting out in December and how now that won't happen. She just looked me straight in the face and said "Chris you weren't planning on getting out, I know you better." and she was right. It's just something that gets in a person.

My orgininal intent for the post was just to gauge the level of feelings towards the individuals over there. You should never look on them as gods or super humans. They are just average people who for a variety of reasons chose to put themselves in very difficult positions. Like MTG stated earlier the miltary has it's share of *******s just like poly does They aren't evil and they are not imperialist as much as some like to fantize about. They are just Mothers, Fathers, brothers, sisters, daughters and sons. Some of them do this all the time and some of them are setting aside their lives to go.

And yes we all chose to do this. So for those who only complain, we won't ask for your help. Just sit back in your chair and watch us on TV. For those of you who can disagree and still maintain some civility, I do respect your opinions.

BTW. my mother has informed me that she will not vote for Bush next election. Sending her child to fight was the last straw

My biggest thought, however, is that they do not deserve this. At the very least, they are having their lives turned upside-down because of our evil and murderous leader. At worst, they could die. Somewhere in between, they can become murderers and/or be injured hurting people who never attacked us.

I only hope we can stop the President and spare our soldiers this fate.

Wearing a uniform. The military is really varied these days, especially in areas like the medical units etc.
