heres a strategy some use:

Repeat your point, ask rhetorical questions, ignore response.
When someone asks you a question that might undermine your position, ignore or change the subject. If they persist, insist that they are persecuting you, and imply that they are threatening you with force, making reference to some political situation in an attempt to change the subject.

Its a very interesting strategy. I will of course not say who uses it.

Don't forget Grammar Police - This tactic involves assaulting the percieved stupidity of your opponent through the use of correcting and or pointing out any and all spelling grammar mistakes. This method must be employed with caution however because it can backfire when, in your grammar attack, you yourself make a grammar mistake.
Haven't seen anyone use it recently...

Hey!!! no need to insult the lawyers . . .

If leaving the field means victory to the opponent, I will lose every discussion or debate I ever have on apolyton. I am rarely here often or long enough to see a debate conclude.

Then again . . . I don't care if I " win" or " lose" anyway-- I'll make a point or two and head on my way. Its hardly worth the time on most issues to try to sway someone who is too stubborn, naive, dense, or ideologically committed to their viewpoint.

What about the endless threadjack strategy?

As a way to end all debate, begin some threadjack which will sap all the enemies resources, thus denying them victory? now, one you innitiate the threadjack, you must use one of the already stated strategems, since if you continually just switch topics, you risk Utter and Total Annahilation by the Minganator.

Has anybody mentioned the Skeptic Debator? Every point one person makes has to have an appropriate citation, and if it's from a source the Skeptic Debator doesn't like (often Fox News) a second "non-biased" source is required.

I'd check, but I can't be bothered to look through all these posts.
