	1893 Session - Vice President's Report. Support Apolyton, buy Civilization: The Boardgame

I played through to 1893, but it is too late for me to type up the notes or create screenshots, I think. I'll try to steal time at work in the morning to post them if it takes too long tonight.

We have Plastics and will have Laser next turn. I had to choose a non-path tech before Plastics or Laser were offerred, so that delayed things 2 turns (Took Combined Arms). There have been a few great trade routes established (2 above 750). The other civs are getting and trading techs at a fearsome rate, and they are putting a lot of ships at sea. We have lost some but are holding our own. We are building SS parts, and have even completed a few; a SS is forming. We have almost 3,000 gold, even after rushing a number of builds, so there is a lot of flexibility there. A lot of cities are going in and out of celebrating and we are up to over 26 million citizens.

Vice President’s Report – 1893 AD

(what the heck, all I'm losing is sleep)

1888 - Adjusted all Workers and Cities to recommendations of Minister of City-Planning. Rushed most urgent recommended items leaving others to later. Down to about 300 gold. Moved Transports to form chains, escorted where possible. Tipped hut for 100 gold.

1889 – Chin -> Miniaturization. Japs get Miniaturization from Chin. Japs -> Sanitation. Japs get combustion from Viking. Vikings get Machine Tools from Japs. Jap.Viking Peace Treaty.
Jap Destroyer kills Transport at Freeport.

Rabbiton -> Temple, Turin -> Harbor, Hydeville -> Bank (WLTPD), Cavebear City -> Aqueduct, Darkness -> Harbor, Panama -> Harbor, Whale (WLTPD), Freeport -> City Walls, Leon -> Bank, Vigo -> Sewer (WLTPD), Granada -> Bank (WLTPD), Saragossa (WLTPD), Cartenna -> City Walls, Seville ->Colloseum (WLTPD), Capitol Wine. 22 million Citizens.

1890 – Carth -> Amphib Warfare, Carths attack Vigo by ship and die, Mongols -> Radio, Celts -> Machine Tools, Vikings get Amphib Warfare from Carths, Carths get Machine Tools from Vikings, Carths get Economics from Vikings.

Port Easton (WLTPD), Chii ends WLTPD, High Tower -> Market (WLTPD), Nepal -> Market (WLTPD), Kazan -> Market (WLTPD), Cavebear City ends WLTPD as do Panama Canal and Obladi, Leon (WLTPD), Avila -> University.

We discover Nuclear Power. Offerred Comb Arms, Geurilla Warfare, Refrigeration, and Robotics, I choose Combined Arms.

Malaga ends WLTPD, Salamanca -> Sewer, Valencia ends WLTPD, Capitol -> Gold Freight.

23 million citizens. Moved Transports and Escorts into chains, Fighters patrolling around Quinsay.

1891 – Chin -> Refining, Mongols get Maching Tools from Celts, Vikings get Automobile from Celts.

Sneak attack by Celts, they kill the new Cremona AEGIS. Japs attack Barcelona with a ship and die. Japs attack Freeport, I think they lose a ship.

West Porton and Whale end WLTPD, Pamplona -> Collosseum, Granada -> Gold Freight, Valencia -> Silk, Capitol -> Hides. 24 million citizens.

Attack Jap Destroyer with Cruiser, sink it. Sink a Carth Destroyer, Cuiser is Vet. Kerman -> Rifleman.

1892 – Chin -> Combustion, Celts -> Advanced Flight, Japs get Refining from Chin, Chin get Sanitation from Japs.

Hydeville ends WLTPD, Issus and Whale (WLTPD).

We discover Combined Arms (whoopee). Get offerred Geurilla Warfare, Laser, Plastics, Recycling, and Refrigeration. Choose Plastics.

Malaga -> Collosseum (WLTPD), Where -> University, Cadiz -> Bank, Sarragossa -> Sewer (ends WLTPD), Salamanca ends WLTPD, Cordoba -> Bank, Seville -> SS Structural (YAY!), Capitol -> Hides.

1893 – Celtic Emmissary: Demands Rocketry and I refuse. Celts curse UN and offer cease fire. I tell them to shove it. Semate approves “peacekeeping mission” against Celts.

Celt Copper arrives at Issus.

Japs -> Theory of Gravity. Vikings -> Electronics.

Whale attacked by Jap ship, it dies.

We discover Plastics. I choose Laser.

Port Easton ends WLTPD, High Tower -> Aqueduct and ends WLTPD, Nepal and Kazan end WLTPD, Cremona finally gets a Coastal Fort, Leon -> University and ends WLTPD, Avila -> SS Structural, Vigo -> Offshore Platform and ends WLTPD (but like +10 shields), some city -> Gems (sorry about that), Granada -> Salt, Sarragossa (WLTPD), Shady Trees -> Offshore Platform, Salamanca -> Collosseum (WLTPD), Valencia -> URANIUM!, St Praski -> SS Structural, Capitol -> Food Freight.

26 Million Citizens.

Amazon Oil to Capitol for 343, Capitol Wine to Tsingtao for 465, Cadiz Gold to Tsingtao for 232.

Thanks CB, we're looking good.

But this game is about over, all there is to do now is to build our SS and defend a bit.

Unless we plan a nice simultanious invasion of all caps, that would be nice challenge

It may not be obvious from the screenshots and the narrative, but we are coming under serious challenge from the AIs. They have acquired and shared serious techs, they are putting more ships to sea than we are, and they are becoming quite agressive. It is very likely that we will be in for serious military attack before we can even get the SS launched. This game is not yet in the bag. The other Civs are, collectively, more powerful than we are.

I would hope we are building the fastest one, to use our great industrial power to best advantage. But I think the Minister of Science should be polling about that. There are many options ranging from the 33, 8, 8, 1, 1, 1 (5.7 years) to the 23, 6, 6, 1, 1, 1 (10.9 years) to the 15, 3, 3, 1, 1, 1 (15.7 years.

I know of 8 viable SS combinations. If the Minister of Science prefers, I could post them for a vote.

nice to see that we had several cities grow on multiple turns this time - shady trees benefited the most - grew from 13 to 18, doubled production and increased trade 50% in just 5 turns Kinda hoped that we'd have had a couple more SS built by now, but good to see that several cities are set to build them even without the freight. Why combined arms over robotics? (paratroopers vs howitzers) - is that a defensive choice against tech theft? I'll look over the save and try and get a City Manager's report out tomorrow perhaps
