Exploration Priorities Support Apolyton or Terrorists Win

Okay, I want to gauge and see what people think are the most important direction to head with our units. This is what we know:

CDG has said that there is bad land and ocean to the south, so they may be in a similar position to us in that manner.

They've also said they have yet to explore to the west, so there might be a civ over there.

We know that there's something that heads off east that does not connect to the CDG lands.

So vote for the option which closest matches what you think.

Please read the options carefully, the poll can be confusing if you don't read it correctly.

I will NOT vote too early this time, I don't want to change my vote again... It's a bad habit.
I want to see some discussion first... I'm inclined to vote 1st west, then south, but I'm not sure. If there's another team close, they must be on West.

I'm thinking West, East, South, but a good argument could sway me...

I think we need to get some warriors south of the Persian city before they block that route off to us. I would build at least another 3 explorer warriors and have the first one hook around the other side of the Persian city heading south, the second head off east to discover the true extent of the jungle and the third head off west looking for iron in the mountains.
Will hold off voting till I hear some good arguments.....

Only explore beyond the Persian city if it causes no diplomatic problems. Lesson of Lux: scouting in the wrong places can cause havoc.

When I look at the map, there is a CDG Warror to the West of us. Unless he moves, we can't move W.

I would prefer to move SW. ie "1". We will get to see their city. Subsequent moves could be S, W, W, W.

With recent discoverie, I'd say we need to make a beeline down the coast and try to contact this new civ. Cutting out the middle-man early is a much better route, trade-wise.

Of course we want our Southern warrior to move SW next turn; if that tile taken, go W onto the hill instead. CDG can delay our discovery of a Game Catcher city or unit but they can't prevent it without going to war with us.

Agreed, SW is a must now. If they really don't know about the GC city, they will probably not go S, as their priority will be to not let us close to their city. If that's the case, we move SW and make contact with GC before they do.

If they do move S, we go W and get more info on their city. Not bad, either... but it may strain our relations somewhat.

Maybe, but they don't appear to know much about keeping relations intact anyways.

Where's the choice for South, South, and then South?

We should go to GA ASAP for contact; killing CDG Warrior's if they block our way.

Tired of ads?

I have a hunch that the west seems to have the best land so I say we should definitely explore there first, then the peninusla to the east and then, to the south.

Of course, our #1 priority is to have contact with GA first so our southernmost warrior should seek GA's lands first and work on the west-east with our new warriors to be built after the Granary

Well, we know they were lying to us about things when they talked about the layout of their land. They said there was nothing to the south but there might be something to the west. Maybe they were trying to deflect our attention?

I still think we need to explore the east ASAP. We need to find out what that little nugget of land holds before someone else does.

I think they only said that they found desert south of them, and that they thought they were on an island.

Can anyone check what they said literally ..?

Perhaps... we had no way to log the chats previously, but I believe we may have gotten a log from somewhere. I forget who has it though...

I asked kentonio for a copy of the previous chats, he seemed willing to give them to me. He said he had to contact the site's owner/operator to get them. I should have them tomorrow.

BTW, kentonio fully admited in this (3-18) evenings chat that he said they "only see desert and ocean to the South" in a previous chat. He jusified it by saying that if he had told us about them(GCA), it would have been like a 'gift' to us. And he saw no benefit for his Civ to tell us about GCA being to their south. I told him it would've been better for his team if he had said "that information is classified," rather than lie to us about it. I was then cut-off in the chat and that line of questioning went no further.
