Just heard this on CNN. They found vials with Ricin toxin in a locker in a rail station. It seems undoubtabe they would be used for a terrorist attack.

The French believe that the ricin was intended for use against the American embassy or consulate. According to the tests they've done, this is part of the same batch of ricin that was uncovered in London last year. Despite our recent bickering, France is still solidly with us on the war on terror and they've got our back.

About the Palo Verde thing:

Even if it was targeted, so what? The reactor housing/shielding in almost every nuclear plant is rated to withstand at least a 737 strike. What sort of damage could a terrorist really do to a nuke plant short of crashing a huge jetliner into it?

Don't get me wrong, I think Anti-French sentiment didn't raise anywhere outside the US, but the increased anti-american sentiment will bring more funds and firepower to the lunatics in general. And lunatics are that -lunatics- they won't stop at a country's position at the UN.

The only real effect the whole French position can have about peace within French territory comes from the French Muslim minority. It is likely they fell closer to France now than before, and be less prone to attack it.

How large a minority is it actually? Large enough to affect French policy? Large enough to make the "lunatics" think twice about using a WMD?
