Enough Iraq for one day, kiddies.

I've always been partial to the idea of making B'Ellana Torres Captain, though 7of9 had a good point or two in her favour.

Got spare money?

I can see this thread dropping to page 4 very quickly.

The war is a priority for discussion at the moment...

...but I don't mind throwing in my 2 cents.

I vote Captain Janeway.

Tuvok is too logical.
Bellana is too aggressive.
7 of 9 is too logical, practical, efficient.
Tom Paris is too reckless.
Chakotay looks as if he's asleep all the time.
Wesley Crusher is a child prodigy whom everyone hates.
Kim is too goody-goody.

The doctor is too unstable (How about a captain you can turn off?)

Neelix looks like he's made of cheese! A cook for a captain? I hate his optimism!

Kes is too small.

Captain CowboyNeal: Who the **** is he?

All things considered, Jean Luc Picard made the perfect captain and TNG was by far the best of all the series. I liked the rest too, but TNG is superior to them all.

They horribly wasted what they could have done with the 7 of 9 character, but the notion of wasted potential runs all along the Voyager story.

I say Chakotay, just cause he was level headed and a bit les simpulsive than Janeway. More like Picard and less like Kirk......

...Wrong on so many different levels.

God, what would he do, whine his enemies to death? Maybe initially, but after a while his reputation would preceed Voyager and every Delta Quadrant species they come across would try to destroy them on sight.

Picard: "Shut up, Wesley."
Beverly: "Shut up, Wesley?"
Moments later after Wesley says something else whiny for the umpteenth time, Picard and Beverly: "Shut up, Wesley!"

Janeway did just fine.
I was a little concern when they said a lady Capt., but after watching the show for a while, she did OK.

A sarcastic captain.

"Remind me to ask Starfleet for some consoles which don't explode."

"Oh goody. Forehead aliens with no concept of cultural relativism."

"Thanks, Chakotay, your spiritual advice is really helpful."

Actually, a Ferengi might do quite well in the Delta Quadrant. There was even an episode with two Ferengi who ended up in the Delta Quadrant and took advantage of a primitive and backward people whose prophecies seemed to coincide with the arrival of the Ferengi (this was a continuation of a TNG episode).

On second thought, Ferengi can be become a pain in the ass and thus, lose their lives quite quickly.
