	Vox Public Announcement Lose 30 kilos (of popups)

Earlier today, GhengisFarb of Glory of War made the following public statement:

"It may be a bit before we pass on the save, we are preparing for the first Intercontinental War.

Vox invaded Bob with a force of Immortals."

Vox Controli would like share the facts with you. We have not declared war on any civilization. Our military on Bob consists of two immortals and one spearman.

From our perspective we have also not invaded any civilization. We have not crossed any territorial borders. In fact, we cannot see any borders other than those of Vox Controli. The land is free and unclaimed. And an important point to note is that the territory we currently occupy is very much closer to the Voxian capitol than that of Neu Demogyptica or Glory of War, let alone RolePlay. In fact - it is only four tiles from The Voice - the capitol of our nation.

Our intent is to live in peace and harmony with the Bobian/Borconian civilizations of the continent. Our expansion plans are very modest. However, they have threatened us with war if we settle. They claim the land is theirs, and that we have no right to settle. When pushed - they admit that their position is not one based on fairness, but rather on a matter of force - three civilzations against one.

We have reached a temporary agreement to avoid hostilities. But we wanted the international community to know of this gross injustice, and the intransigence of our world neighbours.

You forgot to add the settler. This is an invasion force and cannot be describes as anything else.


Need I remind the public that the last time Vox made a "Public Announcement" it was that they had commited the Genocide of the remainder of the Luxian people?

that was not genocide!!

We killed no civilians. In fact those were our civilians. We just repatrioted them.

We did have to dispose of the Luxian goverment though. Someting we didn't want to have to do.

The sooner Vox realises the foolishness of this statement, the sooner diplomatic relations can return to their normal level.

"Unclaimed Territory" "Closer to our Capital" is irrelevent. What is important, is it is the first intercontinental expansion from a team into an already occupied continent.

Ask Lego what there stance would be if you landed on their huge landmass..

Ask RP their response if you landed in South Bob

Ask ND their response if you landed in Middle Bob.

Ask GS what their response would be if a nation landed on the bottom half of their continent.

Ask yourself what you would say if GoW landed 3 riders and a settler in your top half. I am sure you have "free and unclaimed territory". Do you think we would see Vox welcome us with open arms ????
If fact, can we assume your northern land is free for all teams to land and settle there ?

You will find the international community scoffing at the idea of allowing their own continents to be settled upon. This is complete foolishness.

if you are going to claim a continent as yours you could at least publically say it. We were unaware of any land being claimed. If the land is indeed GOW's then we will make arrangements with them.

Lux claims the world, any space not already in someone's cultural border is Lux territory and any settlement there will be considered an act of war by Lux.

The Roleplay Team must stand beside Neu Dem and GoW on this issue. It is important for the peace and stability of our continent, and we urge the Voxians to understand that our northern neighbors are VERY willing to go to war over this issue.

If you go to war over this, you will allow any civ to go to war with any other civ over them building a city. So later in the game the most powerful civ's can just say:
"Well if we see any civ build a city we will go to war with them."
I just don't understand how you can get so upset with us settling on land that would have become ours anyway with cultural expansion.

This is my own personal opinion:

A settler, a few Spear, and a couple of Immortals does not an invasion force make. IMO without any information at all (I always make an opinion before I hear the facts, so I can be a bullhead about it), they're simply colonizing the land--sorry, but until it's in your territory or it's covered by agreement, land is in open season.

Now that I have listend to reason from the private forum, I've been convinced that they probably should pull back (as the settlement was a surprise and all, and I didn't expect anyone _other_ than GoW or ND to settle it, nor did anyone else.) Also, you should know that all Declarations of Mrmitchell are worthless because he is almost 3000 years old and very, very senile. Leave the declarations to Grand Despot Togas please.

GoW officially recognizes the declaration authority of mrmitchell for the Roleplay team retroactive to about 45 minutes ago.
