	CoC for Ninot Support Apolyton or Terrorists Win

In accordance with the following provisions I call for a CHANGE OF COMMAND for NINOT.

Please use this thread to discuss this issue and to announce your candidacy for the Consul position.

The Senator must state the elected official he is intending to remove from office in the first post - this is called the 'initial proposal'. c. After the first 48 hours, but within 72 hours, the Senator must organize a vote - this is called the 'replacement proposal'. If this vote is not organized within this time, the CoC is nulled. e. The replacement proposal vote must be open for 72 hours. f. The replacement proposal vote must include all candidates, plus the person who was the subject of the initial proposal, unless this person indicates otherwise. g. The CoC vote shall be done with a preferential ballot. The person with the highest outcome wins the election.

I also agree. We have only two active Consuls, the Constitution provides for three. We'd be a better team with three that were active, IMO.

Ninot expressed to me that he regrets not being able to be more active. Unfortunately, RL has a way of intruding at inconvient times.

I hope that this does not carry any permanent consequences for anyone, because I believe everyone has acted with the best of intentions.

How much do the Consuls need to do? I imagine it is sizeably less than Prez of one of the other Democracy games. As for actually playing the game, is there a time that it is usually played? I have 'Net access all the time, and with a bit of luck can get Civ3 installed on my work computer, and am able to do anything required before work (~1900GMT) at lunch (0000GMT), in the late afternoon (0330GMT onwards), and most days any time from when I get home 'till when I sleep (0700-1400GMT).

As far as any modship stuff, I can help out with that right now if need be. I seem to have powers here as well as in the Civ3 Demo game forum, according to the top of the forum page, and I know how to use them.

Quite frankly, playing the turns has not been a problem so far - I believe that being from the opposite sides of the Earth, me and nye cover that quite adequately (even though one more player would be welcome, of course).

What is needed more is the administration of the team, taking care of plans and their coordination. Currently, it is like that I am focusing on posting information about what has already happened plus helping with whatever else I can if I have time to (which is, alas, often not the case). This forces nye to take care of almost everything else... If there was one more active Consul, we'd be better able to divide duties... taking some load off of me and nye.

Also, Consuls are needed to be online as much as possible in order to be able to approve or disapprove actions actually carried out by other members of the team - like reviewing and approving documents being sent to other teams and such...

If Ninot turns up and says that he will have more time to contribute in future then I support him continuing.

In the event of Ninot resigning or just never turning up then I support MrWIA as his replacement.

It's a shame to lose Ninot, but I suspect NYE and Voncdrack could use a little help with all the work they have to do around here.

Besides, it wouldn't be a proper DemoGame if MrWIA didn't hold the highest office at least once.

I called for this CoC because Ninot is not active. We have three Consul positions and only two active Consuls, and it would be nice to have a third.

Mr.WIA would be a fine choice. He has lead Apolyton to greatness in the past, has excellent leadership skills a lot of experience, and is presently not burdened with any additional responsibilities in any other games.

To be honest, I am currently the Roleplay team Ambassador to Neu Demogyptica in the PtW game and I am Director of Peacekeeping Operations (effectively SMC) in the SMAC game, but elections are within a week and I will not be that any longer.

I do intend to go for Prez in the second Civ3 Demo game if no-one else enthusiastic steps forward as I want to kickstart the game whilst it is simple and easy to deal with. However, I don't believe that early on I will be too stressed with it.

If you have any problems with me potentially taking on responsibilities here also, then let me or the current Consuls know through PM or posting. I am confident I can manage all of what I intend to be involved in re: Democracy games and still manage to do the job well.

I e-mailed Ninot and asked him if he was having any problems and here is his reply

Ninot did tell me he would step aside.

vondrack and I were discussing it when this thread popped up.

I did not want to start a lot of forum gossip by publically claiming that Ninot would resign prior to getting back to him. Perhaps that was a mistake on my part.

I see that MrWhereIsAt has been granted moderator priviledges. Does this mean he is officially Ninot's replacement?

If so, I would like to open the floor again to complaints about the "democratic" structure of our team. Appointing someone based on a few posts in this thread is silly. If Sir Ralph were around, he would quit again, with good reason this time. I personally have no aspirations to become Consul at this time, but I actually feel like running just to remind everyone that there is supposed to be a structure here. For those of us who do not know MrWhereIsAt very well, it is not exactly easy to swallow seeing him granted the highest honor. This is why elections are important, in order to get to know your candidates.

Hold your horses Dom, MrWIA is listed as a mod for this forum because it is a sub-section of the SP DemoGame forum, of which he is the President at the moment.

If, for example, Trip was listed as a mod for the main PTW DemoGame forum he would also show up as a mod for the GS Private forum, despite not even being allowed to view it.

No. He was the Term X President for the SPDG which just finished, and just finally got the powers for that position. Those with mod powers at the level above (Civ3-Democracy Game) also end up with them here.
