Where I come from, good enough is good enough. Let's just win the game as quickly as we can and pretend we never had any doubts about the outcome.

(1970) RB some stuff & hit enter -- note a warning about Global Warming. The Zulus want to talk (ok -- but they don’t say anything that we want to hear) -- After they go away unsatisfied, they nuke Intombe (making a huge mess) and take it (-78). The Spanish raze size 1 Issus, nuke Valencia, and take it (-78).
1971 -- (-240 due to pollution; Pop = 42M.) We exercise the coupon & go Commy. Switch palace building to Chartres -- at one shield per turn, this may take awhile… note that Intombe is now defended by a nuke (nor for long…) we empty it out & take it (+360).
Re-take Valencia (+336) and take Cordoba (+702, gov’t to Seville) and Toledo (+368) for good measure.
1972 -- (Zulu uses a St Bomber to empty Intombe & re-re-takes (-55 -- we’re making a profit on this, I think) Poll = -180Pop = 48M) Take Salamanca (+272), Seville (+551, gov’t to Madrid), and Take Madrid (+142 -- SPACE SHIP DESTROYED!)
1973 -- (We lose an empty transport, and near Zunguin, a Jeep/Howie combo gets smacked. Poll = -90, Pop = 55M) Note that we supply Uranium in three places, make trucks accordingly -- two are delivered (driving west, of course for some silly reason) for +171 & +365 (so much for non-celebrating small commie cities. Pop a hut for 100g.
Take Hlobane (+783) and Isand (+525). found Moe, Larry & Curly.
1974 -- (SPANISH take Isand (-57) and we get some NON- Partisans! Poll = -80.) Sell 14 Police Stations, Uranium to Rouen = 320. Take Sawzi (+744), Zunguin (+182), Mpondo (+672), and Ngome (+437). Found Shemp & Joe. .
1975 -- (SPANISH take Swazi (-115 -- we get a couple of NON Partisans for the deal) -- what good friends of the Zulus to “free up” their cities. Poll = -80; Pop = 65M)
Now in Fundy -- Re-take Swazi (+406), Buy Granada for $324 (+63), Take Ritter (+47), buy Pamplona for $304 (+51). Sell 10 Granaries and 3 police Stations. Smack some units hanging around.
1976 -- (Poll = -110; Pop = 66M) Uranium to Ngome = 128 (many small trucks deliver freight for no good reason at all. Raze Avilla, Take Bilbao (+125), Umtata (+180) and SPAIN IS GONE.
Take Tugela (+1188 but the gov’t doesn’t move??) ZULU SPACESHIP DESTROYED, Take Ibabango (+179), re-re-re-re take Intombe (+191)
1977 -- (Poll = -180 (we later clean this down to -80; Pop = 71M)
Buy Cremona $324 (+708), ZULUS ARE GONE
Score = 2157, 280%; Soupy Sales the Magnificent.

OK, now that we're free from the actual playing of the game, what was the most oppresive rule?
And the silliest rule?

I think the rule causing most difficulty varied. Overall, the OEDO year changes rule was the hardest individual rule, but it wasn't a problem until we discovered monarchy - that was the first government we discovered wasn't it? And as JRabbit said it was made worse by the government cycling rule. I vote for LF's rule on movement as the silliest. Trucks driving west may have been quite silly, but by the time I played a turn with trucks, we were more or less out of the freight delivery stage so it didn't matter. Once my rule on palaces had been modified it was a very easy rule, but it would have been more serious if I'd stuck to the original version. Alphabetic techs didn't really cause to much of a problem, although it made it difficult to plan for future wonders. I think LF gets a prize here for playing in French and getting a different alphabetical order. Atomat's rule had no impact on my turns - I think we got hold of leadership early enough to make it easier. Human sacrifices were a bit of a pain, but no big deal. Thank heaven for JRabbit's rule - that saved us in the final stages.
