	Inviting MapMakers Support Apolyton, buy Call to Power 2

Here's an idea:


The first act of the government should be to invite people to become a MapMaker. A good source for recruiting would be the Creativity forum.

Everyone can apply, and give his or her personal motivation, plans and ideas (a bit like the way in which architects are invited for the construction of buildings).

The people of Apolyton then choose one person, on the basis of this plan. The selected person then has the task to implement his or her plan. This person will not participate in the DemoGame, of course, and the map will remain strictly secret.

There should be some basic rules/restrictions to it, of course: the starting positions should be well-balanced; at least one resource per type should be available; (...fill in more rules here...).

If you like it, I hereby apply as a MapMaker and will work out a plan if requested to do so.

I think we should let the person who creates the map be some sort of lesser gOd, lower ranking than DanQ, MarkG, and Ming.

The gOd of earth, so to speak. This way if we don't get a resource in our lands we can curse him for not blessing us with our needed resources.

I volunteer. However, I plan on being involved, so I would have to limit it to things not involving things related to the map. I have never made a map before (other then for testing aspects of the game) so I suspect it would be kinda fun.

Don't know a thing about making maps in civ. Last maps I made were for Total Anihilation.

Well, I do have some experience in making ... "interesting" ... maps.

Of course, we'd have to make sure that neither the AI or the human team has any sort of advantage from it.

By explanation - I would have to force myself away from anything such as exploration, city placement, and so forth. I wish to be involved, and was planning on running for City Planner / Domestic Minister position after the games starts, but if I were to make the map I would have to re-assess whether I could do that position impartially or not.

Since I have no plans to actively play in the next Demo game (but I definately will be lurking), I would like to also volunteer to make the map.

I have some strategic/ancient world map ideas I'd like to try out.

I am happy to forego involvement in the Demogame in order to make a map. I've made a few for myself but I'd be happy to knock up a very 'interesting' one for the Demogame II
