That looks about right, holding Tallinn in 1941 is doable with naval-infantry and AA batteries being essentail. In my last game I managed to keep Voroshilovgrad but lost Viebsk, neccesitating a brief battle close to Moscow before winter-hit. Holding Perekop would be very useful keeping them out of the Crimea but realisticaly, the best we can hope for is holding it for as long as possible and counterattcking in the winter. If we can hols that line we will be doing very well, especialy since apparently MGE AI is considerably harder than in FW. We will need to heavily defend some cites in front of this line simply to slow the Axis down, NKVD units and when we can build them KV-1s are good for this as they can take-out several German tanks before dieing.

I would want to try and hold Perekop for as long as possible because if Sevastopol falls it's a b*tch to retake, and if we can hold the crimea it provides a exelent staging point for the winter '42/'43 and winter '43/'42 offensives. Mabe even a grand encirlement! Sevastopol is useful for lauching amphibious landings from also.

i've got a question, what kind of defences should we be leaving behind the front to guard against air attack? someone said moscow is within bomber range already. Do we gut all the rear defences and rush those units to the front?

Remember comrades that we are playing in a game where the marshal will not reload bad end of turns!
We are also playing harder rules where we didn't move units in the phantom round also. Are we comparing apples with apples here... no!
We must also be honest and think how often we may have reloaded in the past to get such a good result.
It is a risk to do some of what you suggested where if we focus on defending Moscow, Lenningrad, stalingrad well first and then apply extra units to forward strongpoints there is less risk.
I have played some games (with our current rules) where germany ended up in kirov by the end of summer 41 by weakening the main don defensive line for cities where the ai sprawns the most.
I agree with Elrino re what we should expect from the commanders

Personally I'd like to see us hold a line of Narva in the north, Smolensk/Vitebesk in the middle, and perekop in the far south. But that's just from what I've seen people talking. What about holding the Germans on the way to Stalingrad? Or do we just hold them there?
