Some anti-war protesters desecrate the graves of soldiers that liberated their country from the Germans during World War II.

There wouldn't be a France if it wasn't for the intervention of the British and the Americans!

This goes way beyond reasonable disagreement.

I was very anti-war but this makes me think that perhaps we should be shelling Paris instead of Baghdad.

Notice how the French officials quoted display equal shock and upset over the vandalism. What a couple of ignorant, cowardly thugs do to disgrace a monument is not exactly a casus belli for attacking France, now is it?

This is sickening. They are also worried that this will lead to anti-Semitism. This just shows the true colors of the anti war protesters in France. Also 25% of a poll they took done by BBC say they support Iraq while 30% support neither side. That is not good at all. Glad I dont live in France.

With protesting the war, it is kind of pointless now that the war is almost over as the only major area left if the capital Baghad. I dont see how anyone though would want to side with someone like Saddam and wish that one of France's allies wich has helped them through the years to lose a war and see their people die.

And sadly this is not limited to Europe, there are people like this in USA too.

I have been in two protests until now. With the decrease of regular pro-peace attendants, it is true the part of pro-Arab groups has increased. But I can tell you most of the messages I could hear or read in the protests were against the war, and tried not to go against the US.
The part of Antiamericans is sadly increasing, but they remain a clear minority nonetheless. The increase of Antiamericanism in France from the beginning of the crisis is nothing comparable to what happened in the US (as far as I could read on this forum)
I'm sure about 80% of the French people would be as disgusted as yourself of this act.

(for example, the friend next to me just told this assh*les should dig the graves again, put the dead again in, pay a fine, and publicly apologize)

The majority of the Russians want the US to lose the war. It is a sad but expectable phenomemenon, that people hostile to the war are against those who started the war.

I want the war to go badly so this stupid Bush administration will crumble... but I'm not out vandalizing soldiers graves. These men gave their lives doing what they thought was right and best.

In spite of the fact that I disagree who won world war 2, I still respect these people who led the allies to victory.

This is an abomination... I will do everything in my power to punish France for this insult to common decency. (within the law of course, I'm not terrorist material yet).

Don't forget about 87% of the population is against the war to begin with. I'm actually surprised 44% do support you. Especially since the media shows about as many pictures from CNN as from Al-Jazeera.
Well, that's not an accurate statement, but is a trend nonetheless: today the coverage about the "liberation" of Najraf has shown as many pictures from CNN of a joyful crowd, as pictures from IraqTV of Jihad-prone people.

Pretty much the same in our supporter Spain as well I'm sure. Comes as no suprise, we knew most of the people outside of the US were against the war yet we let it happen anyway despite the vast opposition to it. We thumbed our noses at them and you're indignant that they're doing it right back?

That poll is crap, no person in their right mind could rationally think that Iraq will win the war, they give that answer out of anger, nothing else.
