Im sorry if you like eminem, but your not black(unless you are, in which case I rescind my comment) and he isnt a gifted musician-saying you respect him for the attention/success he has had is idotic.

I bet I could become instantly more famous then eminem by doing an act just as bad as he does........if I run break into CNN's news room and run past the camera naked....boom-as famous as he is.

Showing a complete lack of values or respect for human civilization should not be something that is admired, it should be deplored.

BIG hint to eminem fans: If you tell someone like me that you like eminem, I will instantly think you are a fool-though I will likley keep the comment to myself: I KNOW I am not alone thinking this way

Eminem is a waste of talent. He rhymes pretty good and he's good at the actual act of rapping (being on beat and having emotion and charisma and all that) but 90% of his songs are garbage... constant repeating of how he hates celebrities and how he's beong oppressed by protestors...

He wasnt always like this though... in 1997, he dropped an album that was completely a serious, uplifting album... with song's like It's Okay, Never 2 Far (a hopeful song of riches), Searchin' (a love song for his ex-wife saying how he searched for someone like her for years), Maxine (a song about a sexually loose woman who gets AIDS), etc. he was a very socially conscious rapper. The album flopped and he attempted suicide... after failing in the suicide attempt, he said he didnt give a **** anymore and would let his 'id' take over

I don't particularly enjoy rap, but Eminem does have a pretty amazing ability to twist words about. Excellent lyricist he is.

And what the **** does the color of skin have to do with anything? Grrr...

And I usually don't think of him as muscian anyway. He is a rapper, and rap is more akin to Spoken Word. The music is never the most important part of rap, it has mroe to do with the words and how they fit together.

But such labels don't really matter; just my opinion.

And now I'm gonna stop beginning all my sentences with contractions. Goodnight.

Vesayen, unless you have some sort of rap expertise (it's obvious that you don't, though), I can't say I find your opinion about the quality of Eminem's artistry or the deservedness of his success particularly valid.

What's more, the implication that one has to be white to like Eminem is absurd, since the entire reason for his success is that he was able to establish credibility with blacks as a serious rap artist.

At any rate, I despise the opinions he expresses, don't buy his absurd side-stepping of them and think that rap in general is an unpleasant thing for the ears. But I don't think that puts me in a position to judge his talent nor those who appreciate it.

I like his music a lot as he is a very talented musician but I agree with probably sod all of his beliefs. Does that still make me a fool?

Considering that Elton John managed to get over Eminem's homophobic prejudices and sang a duet with him, you sniping from the sidelines is just a total waste of space.

i hate the man but u can't help but liking some of his songs, and then i get mad at myself for liking them...i think he is in need of some serious therapy, but he must have some talent if he can give the world the finger and get away with it...Also, from the way i hear other rappers talk about him, there seems to be a great amount of respect for his ability in "the community"

He said "I'm sorry if you like Eminem, but you're not black..." The implication is that white rap listeners aren't qualified to judge the talent of a rap artist, only black listeners are.
