What this really reveals is what a farce the primary system is. "If Jeb is in the mix, it's his" means they party insiders have the power to nominate whomever they like, and the democratic spectacle of the primaries is just so much window dressing. This was already evident with Bush II, when he was all-but-annointed back in '99, a good 6 months before a single primary ballot had been cast.
The Dems are nearly as bad, and got a lot worse about this crap under Clinton, but the GOP is just absolutely shameless about it.
But you'll never see Hillary Clinton as the Democratic nominee for President. She'll run, sure, but she'll never get the nomination. This is just a GOP fantasy, and a comforting one because she'd be so easy to beat. The more likely scenario is a Republican nightmare so scary that the GOP can barely utter it aloud: in the next Dem administration, Hillary will be Attorney General...and if that happens in 2004, USA PATRIOT will still be on the books and at her disposal. Then the fun really begins.

I am still not sure which is likely to happen first, a woman as President or a black man? I imagine it will be at least a decade before we see either.

It'll be a woman. Colin Powell isn't going to run; and no matter how many times Morgan Freeman plays the President, the fact remains that there are no black governors (and there haven't been any since Reconstruction ended in 1877), no black senators (and, I believe, only 2 since Reconstruction), and no black members of the House power structure (now that JC Watts has left). By contrast, there are 6 female governors, 14 female Senators, and the House minority leader is a woman.

wow
hardly certain that GWB will win the next election and people are already predicting the one after that .
oh and insiders saying that Jeb will win if he runs does not NECESSARILY mean that the fix is in or that the insiders choose. It could just be a comment on his abilities.
The one thing jeb won't want to hear is " you know I like him but think his brother is smarter"

When Jenna and Barbara run in 2020, which one will be president and which one vice-president?
